@tom; At Lenovo USA, you can't configure an IdeaPad (and I'm assuming that it will remain the same way for the U110), which means that you don't have the choice of XP unless you buy your own copy and want to go hunting for drivers.
IdeaPads are overpriced, IMO. Choosing an IdeaPad over a ThinkPad is like choosing style over substance. I would go with a T61p over an IdeaPad any day. If we're talking about an ultraportable, I'd go with an X61 or X300 over the U110.
