Dell fesses to Studio 1535 laptop with adapter listing
Remember the Inspiron 1535 that was due any day now? Unfortunately, it's still MIA, but if you've got to get in on the action early you can apparently buy Dell part #310-9760, an AC adapter listing compatibility with two laptops the company hasn't yet announced. Um, just in case you weren't following along, that'd be the Inspiron Studio 1535 and 1536 (or maybe it's just the Studio 1535 / 1536 -- we don't really know).

Damn. I'll admit I'm pretty unsympathetic, but that still moved me a bit. Pretty strong image.

I don't understand why only Apple can design an AC adapter that looks as stylish as the laptop. Lots of laptops look great... until you see the ugly brick that runs to the wall socket.

Are you kidding me? Apple's AC adapter is stylish? What the heck are you looking for here? Apple's is white with the two prongs that turn inside the plastic, the wires appear to be really flimsy as well. Going onto store.apple.com, many reviews that their AC adapter is pretty flimsy, I can't attest to it, because I don't either a Macbook or MB Pro.
But really, aren't you splitting hairs here? The adapter in the photo above (Dell's thin Auto/Travel AC adapter) is quite nice from the few times I've seen it in person. Small, light weight, not a lot to carry around. What else are you looking for?

I hope they're doing the unified adapter thing we ideastorm users asked them for.
Joshua.JWilliams @ May 26th 2008 11:38PM
Hell, I'm hoping their adding non-glossy displays to their notebook lineup as soon as possible. Only thing I don't really like about my notebook.
Die glossy panels die!

Can Dell alone develop unified adaptor? Where is others?

The worldwide release has been confirmed to Dell staff as early June, the 1520 and 1720 have been put on EOL discounts (10% off online price)
Exact dates are still a bit iffy, but it should be somewhere in the first week of June (unless the EOL stock runs out sooner)

Agreed, they've been running sales for almost two weeks now and just started a new one today. On another note they finally took the 1535 off the power adapter page.
