Why does Sony feel compelled to so quickly update their LCDs?
Is this model to replace the XBR?
It certainly doesn't look better. I don't like the new design at all.
Yes I agree, and I hope the new XBR's stick with the traditional design with the floating glass around the edges.
What do they have for people who want to sit more than 8' from their TV?
They have a 70" 1080P panel so you can sit 10' feet from it...but it's gonna hurt ya.... $33,000.
XBR comes out later this summer. Its not different than any other tv maker coming out with different lines of tvs for different prices ranges....
DLNA seems largely pointless in a TV set unless it has wifi and can play movies & music too. I don't even see from the specs how this DLNA TV is meant to remotely access a computer, unless you have to buy some additional dongle to do it.
Is the Bravia Engine 2 better than the Bravia Engine Pro currently used in the top-of-the-line XBR LCD?
@ David - I doubt that they would bring out a new Bravia Engine and call it version 2 if it wasn't a better version of the first model.
Well there are three versions of the Bravia engine AFAIK:
1) Bravia Engine
2) Bravia Engine Pro
3) Bravia Engine 2
It's not obvious, at least to me, that #3 is better than #2. If I didn't know that #2 was released before #3 I would assume that #2 was better.
I've been waiting for a non-black TV to come out again. I'm going to buy this ones.
I went to Sony Plaza, in NYC, the other day to see if they had this on display already before its release date, but it doesnt seem like they do that. I spoke with a sales person and he said that the new XBRs that are coming out later this summer/early fall, and will be the flag ship models. So im trying to figure out why everyone is saying that z4100 series is their new flag ship models. And if its worth waiting for the new XBRs.
