ASUS Eee Stick motion controller brings Wii to the Eee
ASUS seems to be bringing a lot of new toys out to play at Computex, but we're suddenly most intrigued by the Eee Stick, a pair of motion-sensing game controllers that looks like nothing more than a pair of Wii nunchuks. We're hearing that the left nunchuck can also work as a 3D mouse, but it'll be interesting to see if ASUS plans to actually pitch the $70 set to game developers, or if it's just another gimmicky controller that'll inevitably get dumped for the comforts of WASD. Gameplay video after the break.

When Asus rips somebody off Engadget is "intrigued".
When somebody besides Asus dares to make a small laptop Engadget goes into hysterics about how it's a KIRF and an EEE ripoff and how dare they rip off the poor gigantic Taiwanese conglomerate that got it's start copying motherboard designs and using sweatshop labor. Like Asus was the first company to ever make small laptops.
I've always assumed the allegations of Apple bias are ludicrous, but Asus bias? WTF?
The bias you perceive, whether it exists or not, is irrelevant. Everybody who matters knows how to filter out Engadget's ridiculously slanted articles. In short, nobody cares. Go cry somewhere else.
Thanks for your reply, for the record I wasn't seriously accusing Engadget of bias, but simply bringing to light the weird inconsistencies in their reporting, or as you call it "ridiculously slanted". Please clarify:
1.) Who "matters"? What's this mean?
2.) Why is it seen as a bad thing to call bloggers on their poor performance? They aren't reporting the news out of the goodness of their hearts, it's their _job_. We're the customers and the nice thing about blogs vs. the traditional media is we actually get to voice our opinions right here. Why would I go cry about it somewhere else?
Hmm, he's right though, if anybody but asus would do such a wii-similar product the article would be much more venomous, and it can't harm to point that out to the author so he can keep his bias (which is his right to have) a bit in check.
It's like saying to a pal that he hits the booze or weed a lot lately or something.
Eeew...
wouldn't the wiimote and nun chuck only cost you $60 total plus they are better looking.
+ bluetooth receiver
And that D-Pad looks like the PlayStation's D-Pad
Playstation's dpad is the best ever...
MVC2 players agree.
I'm doubting thats a dpad on the Estix though...
Do you think that motion controls can sense when I throw them away?
thats how they activate their connection to skynet
Is any one else offended by the choice of color. If they are indeed intended for the Eee as the article would have you believe at least make them consistent. They look as if they belong on the tarmac helping to park airplanes.
im appalled, how dare they choose orange, i am very offended
Cute pretty face?
No, I'll withhold myself...
Nice. Computer graphics + Wii experience. And they said PC gaming would be dead on next-gen console arrival...
PC gaming #1
Not Wii controls. The Wii offers aiming by actually pointing at the screen. This won't do that. It's basically a pair of the type of remote designed as an add-on...
Its a ladyboy! take a closer look at the shadow!
Ha Ha! The shadow looks funny.

I think it'll be just another gimmicky controller...
That gives me RSI just looking at it!
When are we going to get a nice gesture interface like in Minority Report or Disclosure.
These cheap bits of plastic aren't doing anything for me.
Why would someone write a game to use the Eee Stick instead of the Wiimote? (Yes, PCs can use Wiimotes; you just need Bluetooth and a bit of software.)
That sounds like Link screaming in the game on the video, and it didn't look like she was controlling anything...
You know you are in trouble when even their model isn't hot.
She's whacking it pretty hard.
I think she's hot! Yup, she would like me!
WTF? Really? Dude, you need to check out the Samsung girls.

I think Engadget needs a hot or not voting system.
