HP exec cuts birthday cake with MacBook Air
Those that know Rahul Sood, founder of Voodoo PC and CTO of HP's global gaming business, might not be so surprised to hear he used a working MacBook Air to cut his thick, rich, chocolatey birthday cake. While wearing an HP shirt. And then posted it to his site. Good luck, Rahul -- we're totally sure the Apple fanboys of the world are going to give you a pass on this one.

OMG... It hurts...
Not because it's an Apple but because it's a $1799 computer that they're getting sticky cake in all the nooks and crannies of.
Don't you realize it was a publicity stunt? The HP shirt? The insultination of Apple?
Of course I did.
It still hurts...
It's like watching Bond crash an Aston Martin or seeing some of those kids smashing a brand new game console or iPod outside the waiting line.
i believe that was his brithday present and he used it jokingly
So senseless and yet so dumb.
so redundant, and yet so repetitive.
Yeah, he should have used one of those $400 HPs.
Then again, it would have squished the cake instead of cutting it...
Yeah, this is good for Apple! Apparently, the Air is so thin you can use it as a knife! Sweet! ...Cake!
Warning Will Robinson... Air'or! Air'or!
"With my cool new CompuKnife, cutting cake--into perfect radians--really is easy as Pi!"
That's okay, I wipe my ass everyday with HP toilet paper!
Not to worry - The Cake is a Lie. the macbook air is fine.
it might be worth $1799 but its put to right use ;)
well...founder of VOODOO you know he can afford to cut a cake with a $1799 knife
I like his sense of humor, but if El Jobso did this with some hp lappy, like Greg said, it'd be squished like hell.
i think an ipod nano would be more of a cake cutting knife the mba is more like one of those butcher knives.
I know this is a publicity stunt... I just wish he had put the $1800 to a more practical use. It just seems obscene to be wasting money like this when there's so many people in dire need - especially with the recent string of natural disasters (tornadoes in the US, earthquakes in China and the cyclone in Burma/Myanmar).
That's an awful lot of money wasted just to get your (very crappy) pictures posted on blogs like Engadget. I wish I had enough money to be a dick like that. :(
@ Charles Lee
that was no cyclone that hit Burma, that was John Rambo.

WOW Dude really? How did you figure that out... WOW, you should send your CV to Apple they need such a smart people like you...
^-^
Could you please mail that MacBook Air to me? I'd be glad to take it off your hands.
Finally someone found a use for it.
Atleast it's useful for something, eh?
Agreed, it's the first time I've seen a mac being useful haha.
lol Kralos,
Aww... Why do you have to be racist against Macs?
The famous Lawrence Livermore Lab that I live next to requires its employees to use Macs. So a lot of the most advanced national security technology was made on Macs.
So if you're gonna diss it... Diss the Air. :)
"bigoted" is the catch all term for bias, just FYI for the next time you open your mouth. It's kind of funny though that your comments balance out with two highly ranked and two low ranks.
@User
"Why do you have to be racist against Macs?"
... I didn't realize Mackintoshes were a race...
I wonder if the NAACP will step in to prevent further atrocities against Macs.
Other Apples too often hate the Macintosh race.
Wow, guys. I was joking. Of course I know Macs aren't a race. lmao
Eds,
If you took my comment seriously then "bigotted" is the wrong term to use. The term which most closely aligns with my sarcastic usage of the word "racist" would be "discriminatory." The word "discriminatory" does not apply exclusively to people.
Oops, I means "Reader" not "Eds."
Wow, I guess the majority of people out there have lost all faith in humanity. Should I honestly have used a "/sarcasm" tag in that comment? That's pretty sad... I thought everyone would clearly recognize that my sarcastic tone... Calling him "racist" and then using a ghetto slang term at the end of my comment.
What's really funny is that Kralos got very offended by my comment. Why is there so much tension between Mac and PC owners? They're CONSUMER PRODUCTS. Don't get all upset if someone likes a consumer product that you happen to dislike.
@ User
OK, that hole's deep enough. Go find a new patch of dirt now.
@ Eds
I heard they are forming a division for the online protection of black MacBooks and iPods
Epic Kill !!!!!
Sam
you mean the Panthers or Leopards X
@ Eds
So, macs aren't a race, eh?

"Look honey, not only does the computer allow me to do the taxes and watch the internet, it serves as a ginzu knife! Bring me some aluminum cans!!"
That's mighty funny.
NAACP stepping in? I'd think it'd be the NAASJA (Nat'l Assoc for the Advancement of Steve Jobs' Agenda)
Good for him. What else is that 1800 dollar paperweight good for.
Probably not even a good paperweight. :P
Have you picked one up? It doesn't weigh enough to be an effective paperweight. It's probably best used as dull knife.
(Or for taking notes in college like I'm going to use it for... But I'm going to be getting it for way cheaper than MSRP so that's a different story.)
Why don't you buy a glass paperweight and A) Save precious space on your desk, and B) save $1798?
This isn't the $1800 version. It's the $3000 solid-state drive version.
Why don't you get the Wind? Isn't it cheaper? Doesn't it have the same CPU power? Isn't it the same thickness/smaller?
@ User
You seem so defensive over people making fun of the terrible mac. I almost think you were one of the people suckered into buying one of them!
Nizzy, does it mean I was "suckered into buying one" if it most closely meets my needs?
@Engadgetluvsappl
You get credit just for the name...thats ace.
The MacBook Air can also be used as a very effective weapon against attackers and street prowlers!
-Steve Jobs
@User: What exactly are your intentions with it? I mean, it's not made for graphics work, 3D design, or mostly anything to do with media. Either way, the EEE, the Wind, and other cheaper (see:
