HP exec cuts birthday cake with MacBook Air
Those that know Rahul Sood, founder of Voodoo PC and CTO of HP's global gaming business, might not be so surprised to hear he used a working MacBook Air to cut his thick, rich, chocolatey birthday cake. While wearing an HP shirt. And then posted it to his site. Good luck, Rahul -- we're totally sure the Apple fanboys of the world are going to give you a pass on this one.

Wow, for some reason this post has 10x the comments as other posts usually do.
i wonder why??????
What an asshole!
Like HP stands as a shining example of PC engineering!
VooDoo PCs... please who were fuckin' stupid enough to by those chromed up pieces of shit.
lets see you do better.
besides, when you get down to it, both of the OS's suck, and the only good computers are built by individuals, not some big stupid corporation.
Linux + dual nvidia 8800gtx on quad core extreme with liquid nitrogen cooling FTW
Anyone else notice that there is only one other person at this "party"? Two guys in there apartment drinking wine in front of a dog bed? Sounds gay to me. And nothing about this guy makes me think HP exec. his shirt is brand new and printed upside down. His apartment is like 100 square feet. He must have saved until now to be able to buy one of these. This is his 15 minutes of fame because when it is over he will still be a dick sucker.
The cake is a lie!!!!!!!
And everyone here believes this story word for word. I mean i forget that everything i read on the internet is true.
Macbook Air... it might cut the cake but it doesn't cut the mustard.
YAHOO!!
Its not a publicity stunt, its just a middle finger to apple, from a person.
Me, I can not stand apple, iTunes sucks so bad!
Apple fanbiznitches can kiss my ass!
Well if it can cut bread and flesh, then why not a delicious cake?
I like how this picture, meant to be generally entertaining, sparked this whole long controversy of comments, deteriorating in yet another internet bitch-battle between windows and mac users complaining "ZOMG [insert OS here] IS SO SUCK [insert competing OS here] IS SUPIRIOR FOR [insert redundant, poorly-phrased, annoying reasons here]!!!!"
Seriously, what is wrong with you people? Props to those on the Portal references, those who have been commenting about the actual picture, or anyone who's left a humorous comment not relating to apple v. microsoft; I salute the single-digit percentage of you. It took 3 pages for someone to state that the logo was upside-down. Has anyone else also noticed that his job of cutting the cake is terrible? It's not even centered. Also look at the venue; a dark room, some clutter, guys in casual clothes...obviously this isn't a publicity stunt. Hell it wasn't even an office party, it was just a bunch of guys getting together to celebrate. What, execs can't do that anymore? Seriously?
And before the mac/windows fanboys start mudslinging me for calling you all out on being the true imbeciles that you are, click the picture and read his latest blog. I dare you. I double dog dare you.
Only two other things on the internet come to mind when viewing the behavior of the majority of posters on here.

too low-brow for you

Enjoy the picture, laugh at it, and move on. The internet is huge. Your douchebaggery is wanted elsewhere.
Hey, im a macbook, and im a PC. Well I can work with a zune and an ipod with no problem, not to mention a wm phone.
APPLE: Well I can Slice a Cake with no problem.
PC: You are weak and gay.
Yeah Macs suck at playing high end games versus a liquid cooled 3x SLI PC!
It's not even an hp shirt.... look carefully damnit....http://www.musicesp.com/images/esdjcoreinvent.jpg
Yet another stupid thing hp has done publicly. What a bunch of idiots. That was probably the smartest purchase they have made in years to top it all off.
Way to show off how rich you are, real classy.
I own an MBA and I think this is funny. I love having a mac and weapon all in one.
Apple crew doesn't waste time cuting cake with laptop.
They are just busy creating good computers.
did ANYONE actually go to the the original site and see that it is NOT AN HP SHIRT!?!?!?!?!?
it says "dj," not "hp!"
what a jackass. It's like the guy that wipes his ass with 100 dollar billz... Just cuz he can. I can totally understand why he would use a mac though.... A windows laptop has to many viruses to touch edible food. Also I agree that a stinkpad would crush a cake entirly.
We all know the MacBook Air can keep a sharp edge, but can you grate cheese with it? Until that day I will still resort to my old fashioned more "traditional" kitchen implements. I hate those crazy Californians.
The cake is a lie! (c) Portal.
That's totally the cake from portal. or at least a reasonable facsimile of it. not that anyone would read this comment. oh well. I could pretty much write anything I want, really, and no one would care!
Oingo boingo whoopsie knickers.
See?
As a tech who works on Mac's for a school district, I can honestly say that their failure rates are very similar to any other computer. Their warranty system has been pretty easy to deal with, I just drop it at the store and come back in a few days and pick it up. I have had problems with the operating system about as much as I've had problems with any linux or windows running computer. They do have programs that will suddenly crash, but for the most part things work just as well as any other computer.
Before this job, I was a hardcore Mac hater. I have to say now, they're just different. Sometimes its nice to have fancy stuff to look at and pretty icons. Sometimes its nice to have tools built in to the operating system that allow a less sophisticated user do some tasks that I might not bother having them do on other operating systems. Then again, students should know and be taught windows so that they are not left behind when they enter the business world. Sometimes its nice to know that there is a start menu and a command prompt not too far away. Other times I'm comforted that I have bash nearby.
Often I find myself wondering why I had so much hate... There really isn't much difference from any other computer... and I honestly have boiled it down to not liking OS9 (because I still cringe about using that) and that dislike had followed me into the newer versions.
Why can't we, as a community, focus on learning about all systems, and use the energy we spend on trying to figure out who is right and who is wrong to help others who don't know as much as we do, to encourage others to try all possibilities, and to be supportive of others' decisions because their decisions have made them happy? No one is better. No one is worse. It's just different. Spending your time trying to convince anyone otherwise is just a waste.
Thanks for letting me vent. Return to your thread. If you've gotten anything from my comment, please help others.
Oh yeah, toss that MBA into the garbage. It's useless now. Gimme a break, stop worrying about the damn computer. It's fine. Guy was just having a bit of fun, maybe had a couple of beers. Settle down.
I want to see the guy make a peanut butter sandwich with a Motorola Razr.
haha, what an expensive way to make a statement! wait, unless they made sure the cake crumbs did not ruin the Mac Air in any way, cuz you can always sell it for money!

I would like to see someone use the AIR to kill someone... maybe the guy cutting the cake!
