How many damn articles on the iphone can Engadget post in one day? I bet not as many as crave.com!
Glad to see there's other actual news getting some attention here. :)
Oops. Crave.cnet.com
If I never see the words "iPhone 3G" again it will be too soon.
I have mixed feelings about Iphone 3G, I really suspected that the design will not be revolutionary, but some things worry me and these are:
- shiny plastic back (fingerprint magnet, scratches, cheaper feeling compared to the mettalic back)
- lack of A2DP (you cannot use bluetooth stereo headphones)
- no front video call camera (this is more of an issue compared to the unchanged 2.0 megapixel camera on the back).
Other than that, I like the pricetag, the GPS, 3G was a must.................It will be extremely disappointing if one cannot purchase the iphone without a pricey subscription plan.
Let me know what u think.
agreed, I was kinda hoping they would announce some really cool new features, rather than just some that have been available on other phones like forever now. Also, the design is teh ugly.
What amazes me is that given that most of the keynote was a regurgitation of the SDK announcement or things that pretty much everyone already knew along with a new version of .Mac (does anyone actually use .Mac?) and some demos... that anyone can keep up this level of enthusiasm.
This might be THE dullest WWDC keynote I've seen in a long time.
I mean really, the only big news was the price and setting a date for the rollout to a few countries (Canada included). In many ways, some of the announcements represent a step backwards.
And MacOS X 10.6 is a year away with a derivative name. And no one seems weirded out that there was almost NO discussion of MacOS at all - I know they talked about it in the afternoon - but the fact it got so little play in the public part - not even the usual 'wow - we're selling more than ever' stuff... kind of scary.
I agree. I recall seeing a lot of images of demos from the SDK. NOT actual Apple stuff. The only news being 3G and MobileMe (a blatant pricey copy of what other web service already do for free).
The articles under "Even More iPhone Stuff" really didn't need to be covered, or at least just one to sum up new apps.
"OS Snow Leopard" articles just need one.
"MobileMe" only needed on article.
"Other" only need the last article.
For some reason, I don't feel crazy to see that Ryan Block is the one that's covering most of these articles...
by the looks of the comments here looks like engadget's done a great job of endearing everyone to the new iphone by cramming 15+ postings down our throats. you can haz backlash?
does steve jobs have an eating disorder?
Are you guys on Apple's payroll?
I mean seriously, this is just downright excessive and ridiculous -- all of this hoopla over a phone that's easily outclassed by the likes of HTC's Diamond and Raphael models as well as the Xperia, to name a few, and yet receives this much undeserved attention.
Haha, troll. They may be on Apple's payroll, but are you on somebody else's?

Dear Internet,
I've got one thank you, thanks for caring.
Sincerely,

Kizor,
It's rather ironic that you should highlight any redundancies in my posts / posting style, when all I am doing is taking a page out of Engadget's book.
And it seems rather coincident that you appear out of nowhere to start bashing the iPhone, no?
in Poland anyone don't know about iphone.
Era & Orange dont hava iphone http://images25.fotosik.pl/226/fdc299d6e042c6be.png
I need to know if the 3G iPhone 2.0 firmware will support Exchange subfolders. This is critical to my business as under my inbox I have about 30 subfolders each with client's data that gets auto-sorted using Exchange rules. I have to use this service to keep my mail straight or it's just a mess to handle on the go.
If anyone knows if the iPhone can support subfolders please let me know. Otherwise, I'll ride the wait out for the Touch Pro. Thank you!
When the original iPhone shipped, I remember that AT&T had an contract with Apple, naming AT&T as the exclusive US iPhone carrier for a 5 year period. That meant no one could expect a Verizon EVDO version of the iPhone for 5 years. With the renegotiation of the Apple/AT&T iPhone arrangement, does this 5 year exclusive arrangement still stand, or is it now possible for Apple to offer an EVDO iPhone sooner rather than later?
Seeing as how EV-DO is a dead end technology, with Verizon moving to LTE, I'm guessing that once the agreement expires, Apple will be making a single version utilizing LTE. That's probably when you'll see an iPhone that will work on Verizon.
Fake!
I kid... I kid...
