Video: Voodoo floats 13.3-inch Envy 133 into the Air
Oh my. First you're slicing cake with the MacBook Air, then you're looking to steal its market share. Lenovo, you can't afford to be too smug either. Voodoo's $2,099, carbon fiber Envy 133 isn't a gaming rig. It is, however, a 13.3-inch ultra-portable with LED-backlit display, 1,280 x 800 resolution, Intel GMA X3100 graphics, 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SP7700 processor, HDMI, 2x USB (1 doubles as eSATA) and hard disk or SSD option. It also features an instant-on Voodoo IOS mode that lets you surf the web, chat, look at photos, and make Skype calls without booting into Windows. Impressed yet? Well what if we told you that the power brick (and it's definitely a brick!) doubles as a WiFi access point? Check the preview just beyond the read link, or full video explanation after the break.

Not so hot on the name -- Voodoo.
-bugs me when he slams the notebooks shut.
-he claims it boots under 5 seconds. i counted. it boots much longer than that.
-wonders what system he's talking about when he says that typically you see the hard drive size capacity during boot up. mine typically shows a power on self test aka 'post' for memory.
-i concur carrying that massive brick just to use ethernet is not practical for mobility.
-air intake on a laptop might suck in dust, creating an issue later on.
-for that size i still would like an optical drive.
-a bit of irony that voodoo is promoting an intel integrated graphics chipset, even though this is a first model.
-i disagree about his 'blur' between integrated graphics & discrete graphics. multicore processors may take over or synergize with integrated graphics to improve them as advanced onboard and/or processor technologies. but discrete graphics will still exist as software developers always find a way to take advantage of the latest hardware, making such removable or dedicated graphics options a necessity. it would be more of a sophisticated clarity or robust array of usage options, but not a fuzzy blur imo.
you realize that the voodoo is .06" thinner than the mba so an optical drive wont fit in it right?
anyone else notice that he tried to turn the white one on 3 TIMES!! Then gives up and reaches for the Black one.... does this mean i'll have to carry TWO voodoo's with at all times?
See now that inovative, using the computer's raw hardware without having to boot Windows for something as a Skype call. And meshing the power brick with an AP thats pretty cool. If they could only make a better Vista then we'd be in business. Majority of people don't buy Macbooks for their purpose but more for the look and use of OS X.
Like that it's carbon fiber and light, like the WIFI access point integrated into the power brick. The guy's pretty "rough" while he's handling the product which gives me confidence in its build quality.
Don't like that it's so underpowered (please put some decent chips in it!), power brick is too large, power brick input is on the front-right of the laptop which is a bad location.
Low screen resolution makes me sad.
Sexy looks, overpriced, underpowered,...my wallet's closed now for this, too bad :(
I love it!!!... except the powerbrick is supermassive...
It is a great laptop; however, I don't like the funny voodoo name. I also don't like the weird picture at the back.
