Is Apple's iCar in a German auto magazine? Probably not.
Sure, we've heard rumors about a possible iCar before, but it's not every day that a German auto magazine (Autobild, in this case) throws some wacky VW concept with an iPod touch floating above it on its cover. We know that the two companies have collaborated in the past, with old Jobsy and Volkswagen head Martin Winterkorn supposedly sipping brandy and regaling each other with tales of their salad days, but up until now the closest we've seen to an actual product was that Space Up! blue concept interior from back in November of last year. Will you finally have the perfect set of wheels to dock your iPhone on the go? Doubtful... but feel free to dream.

- "The iRack looks unstable."
- "Trust me. The intelligence briefings I got on the iRack are completely credible."
Fuckin' reply button. From hell's heart I stab at thee.
KHAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!
WHO is that cute guy next to the car?
It's a bad photoshopped fake! If you look at the inside of the car, the REAR window is looking to the right... where the driver's seat should be !!. And the seats are looking BACKWARDS !
The only real looking thing on the picture is Mr. Jason :-)
I think you're right. I do see a partition. It must be dual boot so I assume that means it has an engine at both ends.
Are they going to make an iGarage to park it in next to your iHouse, then take an iDrive on sundays down to the iMcDs for an iMcBurger
AGGHHHHHH
I seem to be suffering from iRage, but if the iCar comes out I'm sure it will be shiny and nice and all the iTards will gush about the engineering and the genius but most iTards will be too stupid to realise they just designed a body to sit on a golf/beetle with VW doing all the hard bits behind the scenes much like Intel and IBM before them.
It looks like a Audi symbol on the side of the back seat....
i am not saying this is a fake, but it is definatly not an iCar. Apple is in the technology business and has no reason to release a car. It looks absolutely horrific as well, so i doubt this has anything to do with Apple. they said it had a iPhone on top of it, but it could be a promo to have people to buy this car, they will throw in a iPhone as a free gift. Apple is not as big in other countries as they are in america, so i doubt even if they released a iCar that it would come out in Germany.
but it looks like a European concept car, which are even uglier than American concept cars. Though it could be a real car, it is not the iCar.
Thank goodness this is not a real car, yet. Apple needs to stick to what they do best, making ipods and macs (i hate the iphones). maybe this is a shitty attempt to help raise their stocks due to monday (went down by 8 dollars, or about 6 points.)
Icar...lol. So will they follow suit and not allow you to change the oil or fill the gas yourself? Oh I know, the first model will have a max speed of 55mph and then two weeks later release a "newer" model that does 65. I guess it'll take Igas too, which is basically gas but 2$ more a gal. Which you'll purchase at the Applestation. Oh and it'll probably cost upwards of 50k to buy the car in the first place, but Macfans will buy anything as long as it has a Apple logo.
Coming soon: iPod shampoo, iPhone chips and iMac restaurants... Ummm I'm hungry!!!!
Quit diversifying too much apple!!!!
OMG I can't believe anyone every want to willingly drive that ugly piece of crap.. The only thing it evokes in me would be the urge to smash into that thing with my SUV just to get the annoying ugly looking thing looking anything better..
Ok I'll say it
THIS IS NOT iCAR
there easy, why would VW leak an image when jobs would probably want to drive it on stage.
The whole concept of an iCar is frankly ridiculous, but then a SMART car is Swatch & Mercedes so who knows.
So engadget I say if an iCar breaks loose Apple is "jumping the shark" or disappearing up Job's asshole.
According to AutoBild where this article comes from, it was just talking about the possibly of your mobile (cellphone) telling you information like how much fuel is in your tank and where it is.
