Sorry, but even though the late, late 4th quarter launch, with only ONE product before the new year technically fits the term "launched in second half of 2008" and "launched in 4th quarter of 2008", it's a delay nontheless. To use an analogy, when your boss say at the beginning of the month that you are going to get paid in second half of the month, I doubt you would think that means getting a check at the 11th hour on night of the 31st, for only 10% of what you're hoping to get.
While I have no idea how well received the Android will eventually become, it hasn't gotten off to a good start.
Like drakkor, I thought it was late 2008 too. They made no hard promises that it was going to be 2nd quarter 2008, that was mostly just speculation. They did promise late 2008/early 2009. I wasn't going to expect an android phone until 2009 at least.
Gizmodo going crazy over this article as if it was fact and that android will for sure fail. It's funny for once Engadget has shown itself to not be an Apple fanboy and let cooler heads prevail.
