I like to spam idiots email accounts.
Everyone reply to Andy.
I like to spam idiots email accounts also.
Everyone reply to Andy.
Don't forget Gates' grabbage of... Something.
Go on Andy, carry on being gratuitously aggressive on the Internet. Go on son, we're all rooting for you. Keep straining those 'F,' 'U,' 'C' and 'K' keys; I will mail you some new keys after those wear out.
In other news, I have a katana forged and preserved forever by the gods. I fucking will fucking dismember your fucking body fucking painfully you stupid fuckswatting fuckmouth.
LOL @ angry geeks
But he's sexier than you'll ever be!
To think lil' Andy's using so many big-man "fuck"s... I'm so proud of you.
Ooh internet threats!
Careful boys; he might go ALL CAPS on our ass!
Do you think Andy's balls have dropped yet?
Come to think of it, do you thin Andy actually has any?
Will Vista be improved to eliminate glitches, and when?
It's David Brent in the "The Office" (UK version):
http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/content/images/2007/05/30/brent_on_desk396_396x222.jpg
so Bill G. could have become a model too?
So, where are all those unbiased posters that complain about an abundance of Apple posts? The posts have been ridiculously heavy on Bill and windows products for the past few days...
Hmm, they must have some kind of big announcement, or new product, or...
/Crying babies
Engadget is totally pro windows, they haven't posted any mac news today, watch me make ridiculous claims and cry about how unbiased I am.
(and for the textually impaired: /sarcasm..)
.. God I hate some of you people
BooHoo....
Happy retirement, Bill, may you drink the blood of every non-windows user.
And one more time, for the lunatics/bitter people:
/Sarcasm.
Seriously though, I really hate some of you (like Andy)... so much
.... what?
It was a big and memorable day but now lets look towards the future!!!
I wondered if Microsoft is really still the most powerful company in the world? (as, in my opinion, they used to be)
So i took a look at what companies dominate the world and i wondered, who is the most powerful company nowadays?
So i took a ride on google and came across this website which might give me an answer in a month, check it out:
http://digg.com/tech_news/The_World_s_Most_Powerful_Company
i doubt if microsoft is still the most powerful company, for me i think its google.
I wonder what his exit interview was like.
"DefPo3t @ Jun 28th 2008 4:15AM
he andy let me guess you se a mac.
well if it want for ole bill and steve coming to an agreement some years back your beloved apple would be gone by now ."
Pathetic, knee-jerk (emphasis on the latter word) reaction.
Frankly, most Apple I know users like Bill Gates. (More than most of the ones posting on engadget.com).
Just another example of just how bright you are. Instead of replying to Totalfixation in the same post as his comment, you decide to reply to him 15 comments below his original comment. Thus causing all of us readers to scroll back up because, in the large volumes of negative comments to you, we had to refresh our memory of just who Totalfixation was and what he said to you, which, turns out he is correct, as is everybody else.
bil leaving MS is like jordan leaving the bulls, bill will realize that MS is heading to BSOD with balmer as head, and bill will make a come back and do another 3-peat...oh wait...
My guess is that Andy was a good little boy for his priest and he earned himself a big bag of fucks to throw around
You're a lamer Andy. You don't even justify your point. Bill has provided a livelihood for millions of peoples. He created a good like of products even if some weren't happy with them. Yes Windows Vista is not up to par with some of our expectations but it's still very good. Stop your stupid bias and flaming of a great man which changed our world. You posted on Engadget using a computer, that computer is partly a result of Bill's vision. So if Bill Gates is the devil, why are you using a computer? Even if it's a Mac or Linux. Hypocrite.
This just proves we can't take you seriously and that you are a little rager kid that probably doesn't even know how Steve Jobs and Bill Gates got us to where we are. Go play some CS and go rage quit.
Have your balls dropped yet?
The only reason there are so many viruses, hacks, etc for Windows is because so many people use it.
Minus 10 points for you.

Is it over yet?
I never thought I'd say this, but the BillG flood is actually slightly MORE annoying than the iPhone flood was... :)
To me, Bill Gates will always be the guy who changed software from a social activity/art form into a being all about money.
Back in the 70s, we didn't typically own our own computers, You were lucky if you got to USE one. Most software wasn't purchased, it came with the computer. You wrote your own software and most developers shared ideas because they got paid for writing, not for selling.
Then BillG, with his crappy TinyBASIC, came along and *sold* it rather than shared it - changing everything.
And no.. sorry, Apple did not make the 'personal computer' - that was the Altair 8800 in 1972 - they even gave away the plans so people could build their own, it's just most people couldn't afford it - which was the situation with Apple's products - so no change there. The real creation of 'personal computer' was the IBM PC is 1981 - but even THAT wasn't the start - it was when a little company called Compaq cloned the BIOS and made the first 'cheap' PC in 1982.
Where Gates' showed innovation and insight was that unlike everyone before him, who typically sold a one time fee license for software, or even worse, created software as a 'work for hire' and had no royalty rights, BillG licensed his software on a *per user* basis.
The rest is history - and he's rich.
All because Gary Kildall decided IBM wasn't the kind of company he wanted to associate with - and went hang-gliding. Feh.
Is it over yet?
The BillG flood is actually slightly MORE annoying than the iPhone flood.
I'll always remember Bill Gates as the guy who changed software development from a social activity to a being all about money.
Back in the 70s, you were lucky if you had access to a computer, let alone own one. Software was typically sold with the computer - it was pretty rare to buy it. Developers were hired to write software on a demand basis and it ended up being owned by the company hiring you.
Then BillG came along with his crappy TinyBASIC and refused to share, wanting to sell it to people copy by copy. His genius contribution was the idea that you didn't own the software, you *licensed* it... and everyone had to pay - the notion of royalites for software pretty much didn't exist before then.
As for Apple being the first personal computer, really that was the Altair 8800 - they even gave away the plans for it in Radio Electronics magazine. The thing is, none of these were affordable until the IBM got into the game and built the first real 'PC'... but they only legitimised the concept.
It was a little startup company called Compaq who reverse engineered the BIOS and built the first really affordable computer in 1982, and BillG was right there, selling copies of MSDOS.
That made BillG rich.
The rest is history.
I guess its not necessary, but I feel obligated to preface this with... "As a Mac user"... I've really enjoyed the Bill G coverage, despite all the needless bickering its provoked amongst some. And I mean, over the years too, not just the recent recap.
I find it interesting to learn more about the person than just the caricatures that are so casually bandied about, usually without a lot, or any, basis.
And good on him for turning his gains into tangible benefits for folks around the world whose day to day miseries are on a scale that make complaints about Vista seem pretty trite indeed.
Everyone -- instead of making this demented little child even more upset by mocking his pathetic intelligence, try reporting his comments. Let's get this piece of crap outta here! =)
Does this shit even have balls?
Andy needs the fucking BANHAMMER to teach him a lesson! (yes I know the banhammer applies more to Gizmodo, but whatever, this kid needs to be banned from commenting, he's just dumb and annoying. He's probably not even 12 years old)
I don't see why certain individuals can't just respect what one man has done! I mean thats not fanboyism, it's just plain ignorance!
I have to give props to Engadget for their Bill Gates coverage yesterday. It's nice to know that once in a while you guys can lower your iFanBoyisms and provide decent coverage of events other than you-know-what. Thanks!
I was a Mac user for 8 years, and on Feb 7th, 2008 I switched to Windows XP Professional 64.
My life has been better ever since. Microsoft, despite all its criticism, appears to have been held to a higher standard, as far as its OS is concerned.
My Athlon machine running Windows XP crashes less often, and freezes less frequently like even my most powerful Dual Core Intel Macs do with their incessant "spinning beachball of death".
Screw you, Apple, for not investing more resources in Bug Testing.
Thank you, Bill Gates, for remaining so steadfastly certain about what makes an OS stable.
randy,
That may be about the most ignorant comment I have ever read on thsi forum.
I hated Microsoft! And for Hero; I agree with your comment about his outline, It is not cool for a nerd with a huge outline. LMAO! Honestly, I hated Microsoft, cause I spend amount of money for doing nothing!
my eyes are burning
the gov spends millions on anti sex campaigns each year; all the while we've had a simpler solution staring us in the face. Distribute this picture to parents. Before someone goes on a date have them sit and look at this picture for 15 minute. Guaranteed to kill any type of sexual motivation (Guy, girl...doesn't matter.) for at least an evening if not the month....possibly the year.
OH SHIT YOU'RE GONNA UNLEASH T3H FURY!!!!!!!!
The camera loves you, Bill, the camera loves you! Ok, Bill, give me SEXY! That's it. Ohhh, you dirty, dirty thing you. Now playful! That's right, play with me, Bill. Ah! I love it! Throw that disk! You silly little so and so. Now serious. You're an important man, sitting at his important desk. Now, Bill, how do you feel about nudity? Maybe just take your shirt off? Those slacks look so heavy, so hot. All the readers want to know if you're packing a hard drive, or just a floppy disk.
Andy, I just want to clear something up... Fuck fuck fuckity fuck isn't a comment about the Gates Day wrap-up. It isn't a comment about the progression of the Operating Systems and the great things that Gates has done for the common and beginner computer user. It isn't a comment about making the Operating System almost completely automated, which is a feature in Vista that annoys some and helps some (especially the computer illiterate people who have a collective vocabulary totaling one word... Like you, you fuck!). It is an evidence to society of your lack of testicular size, some serious social confidence issues, and a severe desire to show everyone (over the internet, that is) how big and bad you are. Unfortunately, we don't see how big and bad you are, only your impotence and inability to effectively convey any other thought than shagging like a nymphomaniac on viagra. So peace, wee little man, set your mind at ease. Your inadequacies in the bedroom aside, we are here to talk about Mr. Gates contributions to the technical society. Go home.
Yours fondly,
Smarter than you.
Shut your fucking face uncle fukkah!
Oh Bill, RAVAGE ME!!
Disturbing photo ever!. :-P
I wonder if Andy has ever actually used Linux. I'm not saying it's particularly difficult to learn, but Andy seems to be mentally handicapped.
Do all of you really think Sir Gates would be in the least bit bothered about our comments? Opinionated as we may all be, matter'o'fact is Sir Gates has just finished round one. 33 years was all that it took to turn an idea into fact. 53 years old and to think he's really retiring from the scene? He's just shifting focus. What's left to be seen is what he does with the Bill&Melinda Gates foundation. Everything starts with a simple vision and if there's anyone who can make the world a better place, then it's Sir Gates.
I can almost picture the guy sitting in front of a computer with a smug, self-confident and self-satisfied look on his face as he reads our comments. Ask yourselves this - How many of us are out there who can
make dreams a reality? How many of us can boldly call ourselves visionaries and yet deliver?
The man hasn't finished.
He's just getting started.
Well, sure, he won't be able to stop being a nasty capitalistic monopolist, I figure you are right with that, it's something he's born with and won't be able to shake off.
Let's all reply to andy and get him to post some more, then get mad some more and reply some more so he posts some more.
I'm disappointed by the troll-susceptibility of the engadget commenters lately, every article people get upset and hysterical, even at the author of the articles, did they outlaw prozac in america or something or what's going on?
