So? Ive seen many of these, while the swap is neat, its been done many times already. Yawn. Engadget story not worth of a post.
Yet you took the time to read it, and comment negatively.
Epic fail.
The various versions are great to hear about.
One, it says there may be a market for this which means that future iterations might be considered to have one.
Two, each installation is a little better. This one doesn't show that the computer was tampered with.
Erm... Actually we've been waiting some time for fido-dido's 900 touch screen kit. I agree there have been other touch screen mods for the 900, most notably JKKmobile's mod but he got his 8.9inch touch screen kit from "industrial sources" so we can't replicate his mod.
I am going to start a charitable not-for-profit group.
I will call it "Tripods for Bloggers" because apparently even though one is tech savvy enough to mod a touchscreen into a laptop, they still can't figure out how to get a goddamn tripod for their cameras.
You don't have to be tech savvy to take out some screws, plug in a new part and then put the screws back in.
I swear the first time he said "e-e-e pc" i thought the audio was skipping cause I was listening and watching :)

WTF is a "fido-dido" touchscreen? Can you guys please stop posting these damn Eee Touch mods until someone uses a touchscreen that is readily available, not some crap out of chinese sweatshop that you have to order on ebay.
The point of THIS is that it's the first KIT based one and not something you need to track down and modify yourself.

...but basically, if someone could mod their wristwatch to surf the net, people would line up to do the same thing.
Shame they couldn't make the real one with a touch screen.

But what is the advantage of a touch screen over the keyboard for such a tiny computer?
Personally, I feel no convenience of using a touch screen while the keyboard is just beside may palm.
