dime a dozen these days, but Brickhouse Security is pushing its Car Camera Voyager Pro as better than those ho hum alternatives thanks to the inclusion of GPS. As with most of its highly functional rivals, this one also packs a G-sensor that detects when a vehicle has been slammed into, bumped or otherwise rocked in an unorthodox manner; after that, it captures the 10 seconds immediately prior to and the 30 seconds immediately following the incident. Of course, you'll also be able to pinpoint your exact location thanks to the corresponding GPS information, which could certainly help you out when hunting down CCTV footage of the nut-job who rammed your whip and wheeled off to Wendy's as if nothing happened. I know for sure that if I had something in the car the one time I wrecked it, it would've just been another loss of money. Though seeing as I managed that quite well on my own, any footage wouldn't have helped anyway.

Why should insurance companies take money for people who drive responsibly? Are you serious? We all have the potential to be at fault from a paint scratch to manslaughter. That's why you buy insurance. What you are talking about is everyone taking out a bond and they don't work any better. You want to make it far then put a mandatory tax on fuel that is used for no fault coverage of all drivers and get medieval on bad drivers, suspend licenses and mandatory jail time for driving on a suspended. As for your car the person that hit you should be in jail Buick Grand National is one of my most favorite cars right up there with a 70 chevelle you really need to get a lawyer and sue.
iEye (if that IS your real name), everybody has accidents. Sure insurance companies suck and probably should be better regulated, but I would rather pay State Farm $70 a month than paying full price on every scrape I do.

My insurance company may not be the cheapest in the world, but the last time a car rear-ended me, they paid for absolutely everything, including the $117 to get my car out of the impound lot where the stupid police put it while I was in the hospital overnight. Then once they got done paying for all of my stuff, they used their own lawyers to go after the moron who hit me, and got most of their money back.

No, because most of the real damage is caused by people bashing the shit out of the side of your car with their doors. This is utterly worthless for those incidents.
i think this is going to be a very usefull little gadget, would be very helpfull if you were in a crash and there was a dispute about whos fault the crash was. it would have made my life alot easier when i wrecked my own car 2 years ago and had to go to court, i think its reasonably priced too.

I remember aroudn me there was a case.
A kid was caught speeding, but he had a GPS unit in the car.
His parents got the GPS logs and showed that it would have been impossible to speed because they had the logs that showed the position of the car, and the time, and by those he was going the speed limit.
The judge made him pay the fine because the police equipment is somehow better.
I hope that doesnt happen to this.
That's a standard beginner's calculus problem, actually. The problem (depends on how the gps was logged; I don't have that information) is that you can only figure out the average rate of change (AKA velocity) with the GPS logs, but the police can measure your instantaneous rate of change.
Example: You drive at 20 mph for 30 minutes and then accelerate to 50 mph for 30 minutes. The gps logs would only show you going 35 mph. The cop could catch you during the time you were going 50 mph and you couldn't do anything about it.
But i think it was logged within 1 block or something. Because it was on a highway, but the highway only stretches 1/2 through town where they caught him.
so even if he did go 70mph, he would have to slow to a crawl to even out the speed.
i dont know how the logs looked but i think they go quite frequently (like every 30 secs or something)

Today, in fact, they're the opposite: Photoshop and the rest of Adobe's suite barely runs on the Mac OS, riddled with defects (check their forums if you don't believe it).
Actually, they're riddled with defects on both platforms, but far less crippled under Windows.

Um, I have to respectfully disagree. Email and word processing are very basic tasks and can be handled by either (and even linux) Graphic design, I won't go there, except to say that any platform that has the tools should suffice. The apple tax is not what it used to be from back in the day. if you price any comparably equipped Dell or HP you'll find that the price may be slightly higher but usually close enough to be a wash.

I'm surprised some of these GPS devices are legal, blocking a substantial portion of the window when fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror are illegal in many locations.
