Fujitsu bumps Amilo 3540 to Centrino 2
Fujitsu-Siemens's Amilo 3000 laptops have always been decidedly stylish in their two-tone duds, and now the company's polishing them up a bit with new Centrino 2-based guts. First out the gate is the 15.4-inch Amilo Pi 3540, which features the new platform and NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS graphics driving a display Fujitsu-Siemens claims is dramatically better than the industry standard. There's also a spill-proof keyboard, silent mode, and a 15-in-1 card reader. Europe only at the moment, should be out in August starting at £699 ($1,392).

Looks good !!
I wonder how long desktops will stick around now that the world is going wireless.
well until laptops become fully customizable with easily switchable components, and be able to properly handle heat of a high end CPU w/ 4 GPU's and 10 TB of memory.
hmm well I don't own a laptop so I don't know about the heat issue's... But i know most desktops don't have 10tb of memory...
You're right, I bet people will be using wireless devices entirely in the future...
...like the HTC Touch Pro
Desktops will remain until I don't need to tether my CPU to: printer, scanner, external hardrive, 2nd monitor, PDA, mp3 player, TV input, etc.
The CPU is not the problem, it's all the debris you have to connect to, still mainly with cables.
I had a laptop that eventually became immobilized by a cobweb of accessory cables.
"...display Fujitsi-Siemens claims..."

9300M and europe only? next post.
Can't wait to see it in the USA, its a very chic and sophisticated labtop and I want it!!!!
Do you really say 'labtop' ?
I don't get why Fujitsu never offers models with decent graphics cards. At least offer one model, I think.
Pretty sure the 9300M is fairly decent. It should be able to run anything except Crysis well at medium/low settings, and maybe Crysis at 640x480 lowest settings.
you guys accidently threw "fujitsi" in there instead of "fugitsu"
booooooo...get off the stage, you suck!
