IFA's coming up soon, and that means Fujitsu Siemens will officially unveil the Amilo Mini. Yeah, you've already heard about some preliminary specifications and witnessed the unit itself on video, but did you know about the interchangeable lids? In a ploy a siphon away even more cash from netbook buyers, the firm is very, very intelligently looking to offer at least a couple of accessories to distinguish your unit from everyone else's. It makes sense, really -- cute little notebooks deserve cute little trinkets to jazz them up. Pure brilliance, we say. See the lids on video after the break.
Just a question: Are all Apple customers considered iSheep? Because although I do own a MacBook and an iPod, I don't criticize other things because they aren't made by Apple. The fact that Apple products are made to integrate with each other is what is the selling point for me. The interchangable covers on this laptop are a nice idea.
Although I happily own an iPod Classic, I would probably get a Zune 80 if I had a windows computer instead.
I just prefer Mac OS X over Windows. I am not saying Windows sucks, I am just saying I like Macs better. Nothing wrong with that, is there?
Oh, but I do agree that "Steffen Jobs" is an iSheep.
Some may thing this sounds little dumb, but the top of your laptop is quite vulnerable to cracking if you don't take care of it. This would make it pretty easy to replace after taking a hit. Also, if you want to "customize" your laptop by painting the top, or by sticking a bunch of stickers all over it, it would be a lot easier to just take off the top rather than having to tape off the rest of your laptop or having to worry about whether you'll like it in the long run. Think of it, you could have a top cover for every occasion (Christmas, LAN parties, etc)!
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.

Sorry about my grammar fail.
Most likely this will lead to third party covers and then later custom home-made ones.
Nice idea though, certainly one of the best looking netbooks in my opinion.
I like it!... but I would most def. use it without any cover... fresh white makes me feel warm inside... :P
that screen, though, it looks pretty small... I hate it when manufacturers leave wide frames around the screen...
If it's 400 $ or under... I'm sold!
It's $400.01 just to spite you.
I actually like the idea, it won't be the major item of decision making but it is a perk I do like.
Am I the only one who read it as "interchangeable kids"?
