he is right. the 360 controller is far superior, the layout is better , the material its made from is better and the triggers are way better. too bad the console itself is a piece of shit.
If only the PS button can be turned into the Xbox button, the only reason I would like this is because he went through the trouble of putting the A, B, X, and Y buttons from the 360 remote, figured might as well make it complete. Other than that, great job Ben.
At least the DPAD will actually WORK!

I like the playstation controler better its a mater of prefrence. Guess what world somepeople dont like your favorite food in the whole world deal with it. With PS3 selling better than the 360 now a days looks like they could care less about using a 360 controler anyway.

Why would you take the innards of the most comfortable console controller ever made and stuff them into the most uncomfortable one?
I never knew what carpal tunnel felt like until I played with a PS3 controller for just 10 minutes.
what do you have inverted fingers or something? I won't disagree that the ps3's controller is less comfortable to use, but 10 minutes? damn that must be some kinda record.

I wouldn't call the 360's game library "terrible" by any standard. And the PS controller is just fine. Lots of my friends were really wary about Sony changing the controller design when PS3 came out, and were very relieved that it stayed fairly true to the Dualshock design. As the saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I wouldn't mind seeing a revision, as long as they kept the current design available too.
I wish ben heck would make one with a complete shape and design too and with instructions for people to make it too...
I would like a white one with the xbox logo in the center and the buttons light up at night with the green LED on top too. would like to have the sixaxis working with it too if possible ^_^
I once knew somebody with some physical disability (I don't remember what disability) that rendered him unable to control much of his body -- essentially, the only thing he could use was one hand. Not the arm... just the hand. The PS2 controller, and similarly shaped things such as one of the Logitech gamepads, were the only things he could use by himself. This sort of thing would be perfect for that person.
I have a friend with a similar problem. Not quite as severe, but he's only got 2 fingers on one hand and 3 on the other. The PS controllers are the only one's he can use since the SNES/Genesis era. Xbox's controllers are too bulky and heavy for him, and he can't get a good enough grip on the Wii controllers to shake them around without flinging them across the room. He's pretty good with a keyboard and mouse though, and thus does most gaming on the PC. It's unfortunate that more console games don't support K&M as a HID. The only one I can think of is UT3.
The ergonomics of the Playstation DS controller are actually better than the 360 controller in actual measurements. The button spacing and thumb sweeps are correct for the majority of users hands.
While the wings of the 360 gamepad feel like they fit your hands better, they cause the positioning of the buttons and right analog stick to be akward. The analog setup ot the 360 pad is also worse from an ergonomic point of view.
You don't have to believe me but the DS controller is better. Just because something conforms to the shape of your palm doesn't mean it is more ergonomic. The reason why the Playstation controller hasn't changed much since it's inception is that most tests still show that it is a superior design.

lol xbox fans trying to copying off somat else from the ps3, cuz they all no that the ps3 pwns the xbox, first of all they brought out the elite after the ps3 with was black like the ps3, then they started to copy our games, (eg gta 4 was downgraded cuz the xbox) then there tryin 2 get permission for blu ray (wont happen) and also rumors now of 360 (60GB) and now this lol (not to much copying goin on from microshit and xrot fans) ps3 rules

Dunno why it was done in this direction, either. The 360 controller is quite nice (except the D-Pad). Ergonomics and the triggers are perfect.
It's the PS3 controller that kinda sucks. Triggers are terrible and it just feels... light. Even the Dualshock3 with the rumble motors feels weird in the hands now that I've used the 360 controllers. Yeah, it gets the d-pad right, but the L2 and R2 triggers are horrible.

Yes I'm the one that made the 3PS60 controller, I've also stuffed a DualShock 3 into a 360 shell and installed a PS3 D-pad as well as NES D-pad in a 360 shell, put a Wireless 360 controller into a Duke and a Wired one into an S-controller shell, swapped the D-pad and ABXY button on a 360 controller as well as have one setup in the PS3 layout (D-pad and left stick swapped) ans swapped the Sticks/L buttons on the DS3 also. To everyone that hates the thing that's great, I like those comments just as much as the people that really like the controller, just shows that ya have your own opinion, and that's all it is, an opinion. Not everyone prefers the same controller layout, same as most things, food, music, sports or whatever, a video game controller isn't water or air, so it's not mandatory that ya have to use it and can love/hate it as much as ya want. ;)

Nice job man! They at Sony really need to crank what's inside a 360 controller into a DS3. Dual Shocks suck, badly.
this is what the 360 needs. using its controller gave me hand/wrist pain... it's actually why i chose sony instead even though i like 360's software more. you really can't beat the sony's controller.

the ps3/2/1/ controllers are all garbage they were direct rip offs of the snes controler (with the hand hold adapters) which was a better controller, nintendo far outclass them in terms of pushing the envolope of development, microsoft as well in fact the controller in the op is lol but shite, put a 360 pad inside a n64 pad with some moulding improvements ......
yeah completly forgot about the nintendo sony colab' faliure, no wonder the thing was a snes pad reformed, and the reason iirc the thumb sweep is better on ps pads for the average is that the average contains children, whereas the xbox pad was developed for larger hands (hence the controler s)
nothing personally, it looks like a clean mod. but the plastics that sony has been using need a little bit of an improvement. i love the layout of that dualshock controller but really all in all the plastics make the controller feel very flimsy where the xbox controllers have always felt sturdy... even have a friend that has tore the PS2 controllers in half from ePiC fail games of SOCOM, and his resulting pissed-ness needlessly ends in a broken / torn controller....so kudos to you my friend... pity the case of it is so flimsy

but since then my hands have gotten bigger and the 360 size is what my hands have become used to. but im working on switch the d-pad and analog stick like RDC did on one of his controllers on acidmods.com
