Fujitsu's Lifebook U2010 headed to the US as the U820
If you've been squirming around like you've got ants in your pants wondering if Fujitsu's tiny Lifebook U2010 was going to make its way Stateside -- feel free to relax. Word on the street -- and from the FCC -- is that the diminutive and convertible laptop will come to our fair shores as the U820. The device actually gets a bump in the screen department, featuring a 1280 x 800 display as opposed to the previous specs we had detailing a 1024 x 600 touchscreen. Hit the read link to learn pretty much everything you could ever hope to know about the laptop... and then some.

Totally in for one of these.
Hm... nice stuffs.. but wait.. there is more... a USB 3.0 version might be coming along next year when the standard is rectified... decisions..decisions.....
I like my U810, seems this one has a better keyboard layout/mapping but still can use at least an inch bigger (yea that's what sh...) on the screen. The fingerprint implementation is quite useless since it doesn't tie into the BIOS. Best thing is the use it to view movies on plane, in a reverse angle and it's size, you don't have to worry the person in front of you recline all of a sudden and almost crush it, not even my X61 was immune to that.
Typically on a transpac flight I can watch 5+ xvid movies with 2 batteries on the U810, maybe the Atom will save even more, it was too slow for 720p MKV though.
...That's what shingles did to your mother?
Is it 1280x800 on a 5.6" screen? Must be some sort of record.
True, I had to read it twice. IF it can handle the HD MKV files, im in.
Now that the screen res is fixed, I'd be up for one. 600 vertical pixels is just too short for reasonable use of a standard browser, IMO.
Looks very good...just keep it under $500, guys
Well that's what I get for only refreshing the page 3 times to see if my first comment showed up...the 4th time's a charm, I guess. :-/
No way in HELL thats gonna happen, the predecessor to this model started close to $1000.
Probably not, but then it probably won't sell very well given all the cheap subnote competition these days.
The word is more like US $1300
This is not going to be cheap...
"MADE IN JAPAN"
The label says "Contains UMTS"...?
