Dell's "Mini" Inspiron 910 gets specs, pics, and potential release date leaked
The cats over at Gizmodo have gotten their eyes on some succulent and salacious photos of the oft-rumored, much-discussed, openly-desired Dell "Mini Inspiron" (or as it's now being called, the Inspiron 910) -- and they've shared with the world. In the pics you get to see that familiar pencil-pose along with a slew of insides and outs, including an up-close look at ports, keyboard, and guts. The specs look like they're right in line with those leaked materials we had back in June, and the word is this little baby will be hitting shelves come August 22nd. Time to swing by the Coinstar machine.

That looks startingly similar to my HP dv600t...
Well what the hell happened to the so called Dell E 8.9" I was waiting for? And now they offer this after I ordered a Eee PC 1000h.
Dip s*i%s!
Hmmm, no multi-card reader? I'm disappointed. The Aspire has two card slots and keeps a nice 350$ price tag. Instead we get an MMD card slot... How useful >_> I also dislike the fact that the connector for the AC adapter is on the left as opposed to on the back... Seems like that could get annoying if you ever use it while plugged in.
All in all I'm a little disappointed if this is indeed their final design. They got the buttons on the touch pad right, but not having function keys is also a downer. I don't see how this can be priced anywhere over 300$ without getting creamed by the competition.
!! Anyone noticed the hard key thing on the right, above the keyboard?
jkkmobile's allegedly leaked picture doesn't have that!
Will it fit in a Manila Envelop ? Yes.
Anyone got an idea on how the battery lasts ?
Its actually very pretty. I like it.
"Actually, Dell has very little presence in Asia.... Likewise, most people in Asia haven't heard of Dell. It's very difficult to order a foreign manufacturer in countries that have their own manufacturers."
That's a total lie. I lived in China for 5.5 years. Dell is everywhere, has a Chinese-language website, and will deliver to your door. Two separate companies that I worked for ordered all their computers (except for the Macs) from the Dell business unit.
sweet
I'm waiting for this dell e mini..but at today any site of dell purcase it... is real or unreal ?
Obviously, no one really "knew" when Dell was announcing this. Not even Dell.
Odd thing is, if you go to their Tech Support section, you can find troubleshooting info, already, on the Inspiron 910 Mini E that doesn't, uhh, actually "exist":

I have been using acer aspire one for 3 weeks.
Great price for a great linux notebook (380 bucks) with 512 mb ram and 8 gd ssd
No regrets at all
i wish good luck to dell to try to emulate acer success...
Do not forget that a notebook must remain CHEAP and fast with decent battery life (3 hours for mine)...
no need for huge hard disk, fancy graphic card and all bla bla
Asus seems to have forgotten these specific points with their stupidly overpriced 900 and 901
