Diebold comes clean, admits that its e-voting machines are faulty

For years, Diebold has embarrassed itself by claiming that obvious faults were actually not faults at all, and during the past decade or so, it mastered the act of pointing the finger. Now that it has ironically renamed itself Premier Election Solutions, it's finally coming clean. According to spokesman Chris Riggall, a "critical programming error that can cause votes to be dropped while being electronically transferred from memory cards to a central tallying point" has been part of the software for ten years. The flaw is on both optical scan and touchscreen machines, and while Mr. Riggall asserts that the logic error probably didn't ruin any elections (speaking of logic error...), the outfit's president has confessed to being "distressed" about the ordeal. More like "distressed" about the increasingly bleak future of his company.[Via Techdirt]

I don't want to see yet a *third* suspected fraudulent election, where our democracy is but in name only ...
I am outraged at Diebold. They should be thrown in jail, the dirty crooks. We have our young men and women dying in a war for democracy. How can we show them democracy when our own goverment is so corrupt and our own voting system is so flawed. We need a paper trail.The Republicans stole the last two elections this way.Even if my candidate should lose, I want him to lose fair and square. I am disgusted with our goverment and the greed. May they all burn in HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We don't need to vote electronically. We have had 8 years to fix this problem. No one should have to stand in line for hours, and no one should have to worry about rigged machines. I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo angry, just straight up PISSED OFF. Wake up America we need to stand up and do something. How can we organize peaceful protests acrss the country?
