seemed totally unthinkable? Yeah, those times are over -- check out these silicone cases for a fourth-gen iPod nano and second-gen iPod touch that just appeared on Alibaba. We're not totally sold on the touch cases, but the nanos look way more legit, especially since we've seen some others

uncommon, we'd say it's pretty unlikely that anyone's making several different types of silicone cases for them. We're not calling this anywhere near 100 percent yet, but let's just say we're hoping Apple's press photographers can make the new nano look a whole lot better than

What makes you think apple isn't trying to throw us off the trail with a fake design? Why not, they haven't tried it in the past but it keeps all the rumour mills and opinions flying while eventually they come out with a completely new product in the end.
The Chinese manufacturers make their products for next to nothing, they will just make a case for whatever the real ipod nano is in the end.
This cannot be the real nano, it looks like a college art project. Kevin Rose is gullable.
Not sure if perhaps is just a manufacturing thing but if you look at the stitching on the leathery part of the belt it looks like a defect/knot but its in the same place on the belt in the nano photo and the ipod touch photo. is it the same belt in both photos? also why use an ipod touch with v1 firmware when v2 is all over the intertubes. Just looks like my ipod touch skin but someone took a scalpel to it, the thing in the top right doesn't look very neatly done. The nano one does seem very believable though.

What part of Ipod Touch don't you people get?? If you want gps, camera phone, mic, etc, then get an Iphone.
Maybe we just don't want the phone part (and obligatory data contract)? I don't know.. kind of like a high end music playing PDA ?
uhm how about no? I dont want to pay 70 bucks a month for a DAP, but I do however want a camera, gps, etc
I really don't care as much about the design as long as they step it up on capacity and price. My 30GB video is just about ripe for replacement, the 6G classic did nothing to improve it (if anything made things like the wheel worse) and I'm assuming a 7G model won't be any better. They need to make the 32GB (or possibly higher capacity) touch no more than $349 or I'm getting a Zune.

Anyone else notice that the 2 ipod touch cases have the holes at the top in a different place? Looks like the clear one is just an iphone case.
Wish it were a speaker but doubtful due to location. Lack of speaker is the only thing keeping me from buying one. I need Calendar alarms I can hear!
The hole in the top right corner of the silicone case looks a lot like a feature that is on the current ipod touch; the wifi antenna window on the back. Jobs wasn’t too proud of that blemish on the back. Maybe he’s pushing it to the front so it can transmit through the glass and they can remove the unsightly plastic window from the back. Why there would need to be a hole in the silicone I’m not sure. My guess is that they case maker didn’t understand the electronics in that corner and thought it best to leave it unblocked. This is all contingent on this case being real and accurate to the new specs of the ipod touch.
Also, they aren’t going to add speakers or a front facing camera to the ipod touch. Maybe GPS, slight chance of a rear facing camera.

Yeah, that corner hole could be for a re-positioned wifi antenna. It would be a lot sexier if it was for a GPS antenna though.

Any way this could be the new iPod Classic instead of the Nano? By the looks of it, this would be way longer than the current Nano, maybe approaching iPod Classic length?
I for one hope they don't change the current nano design much. I didn't like it at first but once I got one I love it.

I hope this is true for the 4th gen Nano. I love my tall, skinny 2nd gen 8gb Nano. It feels better in my hands than the fatty.

IS just me that has noticed this...but that ipod touch case looks EXACTLY like an iPhone 3g case....the speaker is in the exact same spot as on the 3g...the camera hole is in the exact same spot as on the 3g...and the external buttons on the side are in the exact same spot as on the 3g....you can even clearly tell the case curves to conform to what looks like the plastic back of the iphone 3g...seriously who the heck ever said that case was for the next ipod...its for the iphone 3g!
actually, its not just you. a few people have already mentioned it.....
If the pics are true then the back of the plastic case has the camera, not the silicon case, because that is where the ambiant light sensor and the hole in the front is most likely for wifi, this time it might be integrated, any of the holes are too small for a speaker and apple wouldnt place it in a place like that, it would probably be like the iPhone, if the iPod touch had or is going to get a speaker.
Meh...The only reason they'd add a camera would be to make it different from a first gen. You can't really change the design much when it's just a rectangular screen. Anyone seen the second gen Iphone?

The abient light sensor is the little hole on the left, so no, that big hole is NOT the light sensor.
Complete fakes... The finish quality is too low, the material on the strap and the stitching is like a recycled seatbealt. The profile of the Nano is wrong.. A curved screen on the elliptical profile ??? think about all those reflections, a big no-no for Apple. I am sure this is a ploy of a china manufacturer to flog thousands of these to small retailers on Alibaba before the real updated Nano's and Touch's are released.. I put 50 bucks on it.
I agree with the statement above about the screen causign too many glare problems. Apple would never do such a thing. I'd expect new colors from the nano line, and maybe a price drop on the 8 gigs....but thats about it.
As for the touch, I'm not sure. The last picture is definitely an iPhone case. The second picture leaves me wondering. A camera on the front of a touch would be silly, and the ambiant light sensor sounds correct. It could be a fake just like the nano case....we'll have to wait until the 9th to find out for sure.
I can't wait, I hope there is gonna be a great price on them!!!
