JVC's NX-BD3 system enters the Blu-ray HTIB arena
The appearance of Blu-ray HTIB systems under a number of brands is an encouraging sign that the format is at least trying to move into the mainstream living room, and now JVC's thrown its hat into the ring with the 2.1-channel NX-BD3. Of course, simply pulling bits off of Blu-ray discs isn't enough entertainment value these days, so the system also sports DLNA support, a 200-Watt powered sub and a 4x55-Watt amplifier (leaving you two channels to grow into). At £799 ($1,465) for a 2.1-channel setup, you might expect to get the latest and greatest in Blu-ray tech, but Profile 2.0, DTS-HD MA and Dolby TrueHD didn't make the cut -- let's hope some sort of "market adjustment" happens between the time this appears next month and when it crosses the pond.

I don't even have an HDTV yet. Why should I care?
sublimewulf @ Aug 27th 2008 9:53PM
unless someone emailed this directly to you muhammed, no one gives a flying fudge what you care about.
Now, if this had true he and bluray profile 2, I would be drooling all over that glossy black finish that matches my entire entertainment system ( ps3, samsung TV)

Uhh... you shouldn't, you're obviously not the target demographic...
gabe @ Aug 27th 2008 9:37PM
its way overpriced and add to that bluray is a failure.

DVD quality is plenty good for my 42" screen. I'll pick up a BluRay player when the price drops or when i need one out of convenience.

You don't have to a a video monitor of any type if you only want to use this HTiB for the audio aspects of Blu-ray. Personally, I'd go a different route, but for some... wait, they left out the hi-def audio codecs??

I hate low ranking in such a stupid manner but face it people, what's so compelling to buy a BD player ? I certainly can't find any, and believe it or not most people don't even use their DVD players that often, I certainly won't buy an $1500 device that I won't actually use more than a few hours in the weekend.
And about Quality of BD, I focus on a movie's plot when I'm watching, and Blu-ray quality won't improve the plot also I don't think that DVD quality is that bad either.

@Muhammed
shhh! don't you know that lack of undying love for the latest pinnacle of a tech niche regardless of all other trends and considerations means you're just a 'hater'?
