If it were Europe I know I'd look for some prepaid data. Is there anything similar offered by American carriers? A MiFi or a data SIM that I can tether from would work, but I'm trying to maintain a tight budget. Help!"

However, reading this, I've realized they could sweeten a kindle WAYYY more.

some sort of browser, probably something like safari.
full launguage tools, including, but not limited to: thesaurus, dictionary, translator, encyclopedia.
word processor
music/picture/video storage, much like an ipod.
perhaps a touch screen + stylus?
and that oh-so-wonderful read anywhere you want feature that kindle has now.

it's all black and white...
however, book covers would be a lot more attractive.
