iPhone 3G vs. Sony's 40-inch ZX1 LCD television... Fight!

We knew Sony's new 40-inch Bravia Edge LED ZX1 was thin, 9.9-mm thin in fact (at least at the top section). But man, we didn't expect it to make the iPhone 3G slipping around the insides of our pockets look like such a chubster. Plenty more to see in the gallery below.

The iPhone already is a standard of measurement. It's just a teeny bit faster than the measurement for the speed of light or a tad larger than the size of the universe. So far, no device has come close to it.

I thought the system with inches, feet and whatever was stupid as compared to the SI-system, but I see a nightmare coming where say a person is measured as 15 iphones, 1 nano if he's 181 cm tall. Not only is it messy, but we also have to change base of measure each time a new ipod or iphone is released.

Seriously, does it really matter how thin the top is if it necessitates an inch thick base? plus, once a panel is under three or four inches thick, it might as well be "2 dimensional"; id rather engineers used the extra space for better performing, more efficient panels.
