ASUS' N10 netbook spotted in the wild, Eee posse nowhere to be found
You know, we're really (really) proud of ASUS for letting the N10 strut its stuff in the wild without the crutch that is the completely oversaturated Eee brand. And look, the 10.2-inch netbook looks mighty fine, now doesn't it? Sure, it's not relying on hordes of siblings for moral support, but with that LED-backlit display, GeForce 9300GS and Intel N270 processor, who needs meaningless pats on the fanny? Hit the read link for a few more shots.

Looks better than the eee
+1
If they can price it right you can count me in.
We are the Knights who go N-Eee
I lol'd. Excellent. =D
Spam, spam, spam, spam...
Do they have one that runs linux?
Almost all computers run linux. You just need to install it yourself.
I guess the better question is if there's an option for a model for linux users without the Microsoft tax.
i think i may finally be over how similar this company's name is to anus.
maybe not.
(squeem)
Fanny is an English slang word for vagina
and an American term for ASS
Either way, fun to pat.
I rather pat an English Vagina than an American Ass.
This probably should be called an ultra-portable and not a netbook, given its specs and inevitable price tag.
The whole world of the netbook always seemed to be hedged-in.
"small-sized, low-cost, light weight, lean function subnotebooks optimized for Internet access and core computing functions" says wiki... low cost? small-sized? its all a bit vague. Optimized for internet access and core computing functions? Sounds to me like this will not be a netbook.
Wonder if it still has that 'HDMI out' mentioned couple of weeks back...I see vga and not shot of the back.
Isn't that an HDMI output in this picture : http://image1.aving.net/2008/09/03/20080903091619670.JPG ?
(I could be wrong).
GF 9300GS in a 10-incher? Very nice. What would be the impact on heat production and battery life?
3 mins 40 seconds to be exact
It appears to also function as a mirror.
i see dead people
or maybe just an asian guy
Ill buy it when it gets Intel Atom N330 (Dual-Core)
Looking good, but that Atom ("n270") is way too weak for any serious usage. Come on, it`s time for Via Nano!
I agree !!! Asus bring on the Via Nano, the beast !
why stop at patting whilst you're at it?
Guess what Engadget an over saturated brand is one that DOES NOT SELL.
If it does then it's fine (and it does) Mind over saturation would be a better description of your coverage of every single model that comes along.
I think the Nvidia graphics were put in there to support HDMI out as the GMA 950 graphics in the Atoms are not capable of doing so.
Jade Goody's wizard's sleeve VS Jessica Alba's sin in the city?...
That random comment was actually a reply to Ogo! Or I'm as mad as a bicycle...
If this is indeed encroaching on the same market as the Eee, then a whole bunch of people over at Asus should be fired for pissing away a brand name. Currently, the general public knows the Eee brand better than any other netbook. So if they have squandered that very, very valuable lead for the sake of some very short-term gain then that is pretty damned stupid. I guess this is Asus's first time with a consumer brand - so we'll consider it practice.
On the other hand, its entirely likely that this is meant as a pricier, non-competing product. Still doesn't change the stupidity of watering down their Eee name to the point of making it meaningless.
