My wife. I couldn't get her to give up her crappy sprint flip phone for a slightly used iPhone (granted, she breaks about 3-4 phones a year, so I can't blame her). With this though, I could get her a dedicated email device that doesn't incur the type of monthly fee that a Treo/BB would incur.
If she breaks it, no biggie. 100$ out of pocket vs 200-400$ and a contract.
Having it separate from her phone means that she can leave it when she goes out with her friends and still have her phone.

I live in old Europe, so no, the cost isn't that attractive compared to what I pay now.
