Toshiba's NB105 netbook shows up on video

It's being called the Satellite Arizona 10X for some reason, but here's the Toshiba NB105 we spotted the other day getting the video treatment. Still no word on pricing or availability, but unless you're a crazy Tosh fanboy or super into the portable DVD player-looking design, we're certain you can find another netbook with a 1.6GHz Atom to keep you warm in the meantime. Really? What is the point anymore? By the time these things come out, and don't get me wrong, I think these things are awesome for what they are meant to do, the product is obsolete, due to new processors and tech, or the manufacturer has already announced a new model.

As great as all these Netbooks are, all of the Manufacturer's seem to forgot the point, they should be cheap. If this things 400+ its not worth it

And what differs this from all the netbooks out there with 8.9 or 10.2" screens with 1024x600 resolution, 1.6ghz N270 Atom processor, 1gb ram, 8-20gb SSD or 80-160gb HDD, etc. etc?

I want to see more variation among the netbooks, something to really set this apart from the competition but I don't see anything that makes it unlike all the others.

You're right. Then Asus decided that to milk the EeePC name to make it another ultraportable laptop. I never thought that netbooks and ultraportables were the same, but computer manufacturers don't seem too sure about what they want to a netbook to be, either. I blame it on Asus, because they made an awesome, cheap portable with an SSD (like they're supposed to have!), but then got their wires crossed while moulding a market they actually created. What did they make, exactly?

Besides that, all the specs are the same. I understand that everyone will use the same Intel Atom to power these things, but why is everyone offering the same specs? How much stuff do I carry with me that I need 3 USB ports in an ultraportable meant to supplement my main computer? At least EeePC 1000 offers a 40 GB SSD, and the Lenovo offers an ExpressCard slot.

And can anyone actually see the keyboard on that Toshiba?

I really wish that everyone would take a break and SHIP everything before deciding on "releasing" the next version.
Heck CPU/video cards USUALLY take a break and let things settle into the market before they tell their customers that the "super version" will be 3-4mths out

whats the point of buying a laptop which cost around or more then 500 $ and is under performance. people don't be lazy . go buy standard laptop and stop wasting money. if these things come less then 300$ then it can be considered..

The cynic in me says that what sets some notebooks apart from the competition is that a few actually deliver the product, not just announcements or excuses!

Something to replace my Libretto U105 with.....ummm....if it EVER dies :-)

The U105 goes EVERYWHERE with me, has been reloaded only once in three years for some dumb thing I stuffed up. I am not looking forward to every replacing it, for I will lose the PCMCIA slot the little Verizon card lives.

With no less than FIVE Librettos (all the CT models as they came out)....a few Tecra CDT lappies from throughout the 90's.....ALL still running (but of course outgrown).

I've been on a P105-S9337 for almost two years.

I'VE got to be the ultimate Toshiba fanboy ;-P

this is really cool! and more professional looking than other 8.9 inch netbooks
