Windows 7 coming June 3rd, 2009?

As you may recall, Bill Gates himself mentioned a little ways back that Windows 7 could possibly be arriving as soon as next year, which prompted some quick backtracking on Microsoft's part, but that earlier-than-expected date has now cropped up yet again, this time supposedly in Microsoft's internal calendar. According to InternetNews.com, that calendar pegs the planned release date as June 3rd, 2009, which is a good deal sooner than the "early 2010" date we've been hearing all along, and quite a significant cut into Vista's planned three-year lifespan. What's more, the site also says that Microsoft will take advantage of its Professional Developer's Conference on October 27th to launch the first public beta of Windows 7, although that doesn't quite match up with earlier word that it'd only be revealing some "in-depth technical information" about the OS.

I know that touch is something they are trying to incorperate, but would you need a touch screen? I saw somewhere that some developers were trying to make (or have made) some software that will enable any screen to be touch. I could be wrong though
He-he... That's my birthday... and my neighbors birthday... he-he... would be REALLY awesome if it did come out on my B-Day. Would make a great present. *cough cough* *looks at relatives*
The reasons for the new ads from Microsoft are not about selling anything. If you watch the bill and jerry ads they don't really sell anything and the mojave is just about changing peoples minds aobut vista. What the ads are supposed to do is that when the next operating system comes out people are not going, "Remember how vista sucked lets not get windows 7". It's to get people to go, "Yay vista wasn't all that good but it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be and microsoft has learned their lesson and they aren't going to fail like they have." That is the purpose of this advertising campaing. "PUBLIC IMAGE"
Can we say this is MS get ready to rock event? ok lets do this,> Let's Rock. June 3, 2009 9.59 a.m.Alaska
If Windows 7 is released by June 2009, I'll eat my hat.
congratulations! the coders have coded a "about windows" box, now marketing can start at the campaign! done! ow wait, boss, do we need a kernel for this?
The most annoying thing about vista is user access control. That shit is annoying, I don't care if it protects the user. It's so inconvenient it's useless. Even when you turn that thing off it's still sucks. I hope they take that thing out completely because it aint helping. The menus are hard to guide around, the whole GUI is a mess, not to mention you can't find anything.
What makes a good OS? An OS in which someone with just some common sense, can go in and know how to work it. Applications also. I don't know where all this thing come from where you need to take a course just to work an OS or use an application. Let's get back to why computers existed, it's to make life easier on people. A powerful application or computer is useless if it's difficult to use. CPU's has grown many folds except the applications are as slow as ever becuase it so bloated and filled with useless options. People are sick of upgrading OS all the time. Not to mention upgrading the hardware just to make it even usable. This windows 7 will be bad for MS, no one is going to want it just like Vista. Yeah, the nerds will try it out and some home user will get it because it will come on the new laptops and pc, but people with xp and existing vista won't care. And people in the workplace won't upgrade either, who's going to start buying new shit when we're in a recession? People talk about making it 64bit only, but that means millions of applications need to change which isn't going to happen. Every OS must be backward compatible.
I don't get it what advantage is there with 64 bit over 32bit?
Vista is a flop.Tired of it being crammed down our throats.I think going to windows xp is an upgrade. Now a new os is coming.I think i will just go to Apple.
Was not impressed with vista and was about sick of problems with xp - bought a 24" I-mac in June - problem solved! Have not had one bit of trouble since I've owned it.
OSX86 - There you go.
