iRex: something awesome this way comes

All we have right now is an ominous, glowing shape that might represent an e-reader of some sort and the promise (threat?) that "Seeing Is Believing." Following on the heels of Sony's vague e-book announcement, it seems that the folks at iRex also have something big planned. Sony will be keeping quiet until October 2, but over at iRex the bomb drops Monday.

This act of "wait until posted date" will eventually go the way of quick time events in games if companies keep using this same ploy.
the shape looks more like my modem to me, specially cause its glowing green, just sayin
Should read
In Space No One can Hear You Scream
"I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream"
iDon't see anything and iDon't believe anything...
If I didn't know it was from iRex, I would guess it's the next Nintendo DS.
sony is making a robotic dinosaur?
ok, that comment was all sorts of wrong
just another overpriced eBook reader form iRex. nothing new at all
please let it be the shape of a price drop on the iliad
No, you fools, don't you see? It's a TRICK! There are only 12 months in the year, not 22!
Shut up Miss USA.
I believe!
I'm guessing a color eInk display.
i never heard iRex but now i was intimated by incredible amount out iRex posts
or intimidated
or inundated
eBook with backlit is finally coming :)
Ebook readers with backlights already exist. However none of them use eInk, and none ever will. That's because unlike LCD, eInk is completely opaque. So light cannot be shined through it.

OMG! NEW AIBOS! :O

Quick facts from the article:
* Name: iRex Reader 1000
* 10.2 Inch Screen
* eBook (Mobipocket?), PDF, Word, and html support (probably others)
* Stylus input (wacom?)
* 60-70 hour battery life
* 3 Versions
* Base - $650
* Touch Screen - $750
* Touchscreen + Bluetooth, Wifi, and 3G, $850
* 16 levels of greyscale
Well there's a place to not park your stock money.
Coloured e-Ink is coming?
To a copy of your local esquire.
It's the next generation iLiad, with a 10 inch screen, for $650. $100 extra for tablet input, and $100 extra again if you want WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G Data.
It's going to be a few years before we see colour screens, and backlit e-ink screens are physically impossible. (You can side-light them, though).
Why is it iRex and not T-Rex?
If that turns out to be the price then there is NO chance I will be even thinking about it.
THIS is the reason I have been looking at the netbooks to be my reader, all I need now is an easy way to add an external touchscreen to whatever 10" I pick up and I am done
For a reader it SHOULD have a touchscreen by default and I think basic wi-fi as well (hell it costs no more than $5 for them to add it)
I thought Apple trademarked the 'i' so nobody else could use it?
And if not, can't companies be a little more original than sticking lowercase i's in front of unrelated, one syllable words?
No intel was the one who tried to copyright the i as the-one-that-is-me recalls reading,
Wait, Hang-on!
Are you sure this is not just an advert for HEROES Season 3. LOL
Why would they announce something that's coming in 2022 already?
