Samsung ups the ante with the X460 laptop; X360 feels neglected
Is Samsung's Air competitor, the X360, a little too delicate for your tastes? Perhaps you'd be in for its slightly heavier cousin, the newly announced X460. It weighs in at 4.1 pounds and offers a larger 14.1-inch (though still 1280 x 800) screen, yet still manages to come in at just 1.2-inches thick. An Intel Centrino 2 handles the number crunching paired with up to 4GB of RAM, while up to a 320GB HDD (alas, no SSD) and a Super Multi Drive DVD burner with LightScribe handle storage. An nVIDIA GeForce Go 9200M GS chipset will cover (lightweight) gaming duties, while connectivity is offered via 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, gigabit ethernet, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, a 7-in-1 card reader, and HDMI output to boot. A 6-cell battery will keep it juiced for up to 5 hours (7.5 if you opt for the 9-cell), and the ever-trendy anti-bacterial keyboard will keep you healthy. No price or availability yet, but just look at that lovely shade of rose.
Update: TrustedReviews already has a quick preview of the X460, looking a little less hot in black. [Thanks Howard]

wow that laptop has nice cleavage
Who ever put her in maternity clothes needs to be shot. Totally got me flaccid.
oh yeah, and you'd might as well face it, you're addicted to love
phanbouy wanna start a website
sure bob once you get all the asian models on board for some "hands-on" reviews
Good heavens Mr Sakamano, she's beautiful!
Nice accessory for the laptop!
14" is the perfect size. Looks great.
Afraid of the price though, and Vista.
Hear hear. 14.1" FTW. It'd be nice to start seeing 1440x900 as a standard resolution on them. Lenovo has the X300, though, which has a 1440x900 screen, and it's 13.3".
Does she come standard?
The bar has definitely been raised!
On product model hotness!
Can you only get her and not the laptop...?
Do want!
the laptop or the girl?
either is good, lol
You know what that comp reminds me of? The 12" powerbook from apple, from back in the day. I still maintain that the 12" G4 is the best portable computer of all time - small, plenty of ram, has a dvd, great battery life. And a note on vista - its not OS X so therefore... it SUCKS!
It topped off at like 678 mb ram.... Other than that, I think it was pretty darn good. I know someone who still uses one as their main laptop. Wish Mac started putting out a 12 incher again. The Air... I just don't get the point. Give me a thick 12 inch macbook pro, wouldn't that be cool? I might consider buying a mac...
Does it play Crysis Warhead?
your mom gives me crysis warhead
@phanbouy
epic win for comment of the year..i hope that was original and not a rip off someone else's but i'm guessing that was a momentary flash of brilliance..
piss-your-pants HILARIOUS
@phanbuoy
immature, but really funny.
I must admit, that is sexier then a mac
wow. me likey much better than the typical asian gadget models.
I don't know it looks like her software is rather on the floppy side... almost like a frown. Blame it on bad fashion choices.
Can one get a discount if he already has a compatible accessory like that? You know, like getting a discount on a PC without OS? Just hypothetical, of course (as if I *really* had an accessory like that).
Screw the computer, I'll take the girl.
Uh, well screw the girl too.
i see what you did there
Never mind the laptop ...
id hit it
The question is will it hit you back?
Id donkey punch it with a little less than 14.1 inches (ok alot less)
Lets just hope both can remain virus-free so they remain useable. Ubuntu = safe computing
I will buy the laptop only if you keep it and send me only the girl.
I was never into the asian models and I am happy to see someone was thinking of me.
Wow, this is stupid. This can't even be considered to be a competitor to the Air. It's 1.1 pounds heavier, thicker than a MacBook, and the screen is friggin huge. This is NOT an ultraportable. Even the Air is large for what it is. Its closest Apple competition is the MacBook perhaps, but definitely not the Air.
I don't see where you're coming from. This article didn't even mention the MacBook Air.

And X360 is MUCH lighter than Air.
Wow, lots of model comments. Has she done work for Samsung before? Anyone know who she is?
I don't mind the wardrobe situation, but it's a bit confusing. hmmm...
Que the "sharp knees" comment but I actually would not hit it..
The laptop on the other hand.. put out a 18" 16x9 version of that thing with two hd bays and a mid-high level geforce and im sold.
Why they keep saying "802.11a/b/g/n" if all the future WiFi will support the previous ones?
"In Samsung X999 connectivity is offered via 802.11a/b/g/n/o/p/q/r/s/t/u/w/z WiFi"?
Wow, she it hot. Samsung is Korean..... Weird seeing a caucasian model from them. Did I say she was hot?
