Lenovo S10s start shipping out

Well, it looks like anyone that ordered a Lenovo S10 netbook may be able to rest a bit easier, as at least some of 'em are now finally shipping out, making that supposed two-month delay look increasingly like a false alarm. Judging from the discussion on Slickdeals.net, it seems that both white and black models are shipping, although a few folks are also reporting that their ship date has been pushed to late October. Any movement with your order? Let us know in comments.

I got an email from Lenovo that my black one was shipped today also.
Dont these have heating issues? The S10 was my 1st choice before i heard of the overheating problems.
They don't overheat, they run as hot as most normal laptops though warmer than other netbooks. there is no stability issues relating to heat. and besides...winter is coming.
the overheating was cause by testing pcmark05 for one hour+ in very warm room temp.

Ordered the Red Lenovo S10, my ship date still says 11/18/08. I called CS and was informed that my order be shipped on, or before 10/17/08. However, after complaining a couple of times about the delay of my order I got an additional $20 off. This is in addition to the 15% off coupon, and the free shipping. This really made it a fantastic deal, even I do have to wait.
..mine (red one) still says Oct14 - same date it has been since they missed my original Sep16 ship date...

Yeah, my red one is also still delayed to mid-October, and the general availability of red ones is now pushed back to December. Guess the Chinese used all the red paint.
I ordered both black and red, got an email today stating black one shipped, no updates on the red (original September date still moved to 11/18).
"Christopher Wagner" erased out his name, but forgot the other 2...

I ordered one when it was first available on (late) 8/19. The original ship date was 9/23 and looks like that's now 10/21. Annoying, but better than the new November ship dates that others have gotten.
i'm the same: i waited a few hours on 8/19 before taking the plunge, and originally got a target of 9/23. it now says 10/21. mine is black. the prospect of waiting til november 23 was disappointing, but i'm glad i didn't cancel.

My red model was moved to 10/15, but I'm not complaining, 'cause it was 11/17 before.
My order for a red S10 was confirmed multiple times, alleged shipping time was never altered, and then Lenovo canceled my order a week or two ago without telling me. When I called Lenovo sales, I was told I have to go to the end of the line because my order was "invalid" (notwithstanding all the written confirmation I received from Lenovo) and my order would be treated like a new order.
No one at Lenovo with whom I've spoken appears able to reinstate the order, much less offer me an additional discount for all the time I've spent on the phone with them. Grrrr......
I had the same issue. I ordered a red one and replied back saying I still wanted it. Was out there until last week and then it said it was invalid. I called about it and they told me it had been cancelled and that they could not tell me why, but I could re-order it. Sent me over to sales but I gave up waiting for someone to pick up after 5 minutes.
I might just wait, and pick up a Blue one or something.
Have we seen a review of battery life on this one?
Mine is in my hand! I ordered on 8/19 around noon I think. Mine shipped yesterday from NC. I ran mine for an hour and it was still running cool. I think the heat issue is going to be comparable to any other laptop.

I ordered mine on 08/20/08 and originally had a ship date of 10/29. But as of this post its now showing as shipped!!! It was a White S10, can't wait! The wife is going to be very surprised!
I wish we had a discount program as good as Mr. Wagner's. I can only get the S10 for $403.88 through my company discount.

I got mine for the same price plus 10% cash back from Live.com. I'll have to check my order when I get home, hope mine is shipping too.

ordered on the first day, black... date's been pushed from 9/23/08 to 10/21/08... and i got an e-mail this morning from Lenovo with subject: "Falling Prices on ThinkPad and IdeaPad Notebooks"
I ordered mine 8/19 black for $388.
I got the cofirmation that its been shipped.
Mine is currently on a UPS truck on its way to my house, should be getting it this afternoon! Woot! White, ordered on 8/20.
