We already knew that MSI's Wind
U120 was coming this quarter. Now
DigiTimes has pegged the launch to November. Available in white or black, DigiTimes' sources claim that the U120 should launch for roughly $552 with a built-in 3.5G data module, Atom N270 proc, 1GB memory, and a 120GB hard disk loaded with Windows XP. For its part, MSI did say that it will not be introducing a netbook with touchscreen due to the high cost (eh hem,
hear that ASUS?). MSI does, however, plan to launch its second generation Wind netbook with "new innovations" at the beginning of March at CeBIT 2009. We're hoping for thought-control enabled by a
quantum processor but expecting something more akin to a
race to the bottom.
how bout some decent GeForce or Radeon gfx?
I think Asus is ture Netbook leader. While other brand just start thinking about gaming netbook, Asus Done!!!

I think MSI have to work harder to be the Netbook leader again. From my opinion now MSI lose this position to Asus.
HIGH cost?? hell anyone here can buy the damn kit for about $50 RETAIL.
All they have to do is design an easy way to hook it in and they are ready to go, they don't have to redo the entire assembly line, just add a couple of extra stations.
The strange thing is depending on what they DO put out there is a good chance unless it is priced to high, it will still get it's touchscreen by entrepreneurs selling it as an addon (maybe even the outside-usb designed version)
What kit? And from where for $50?
I will take a slightly faster atom processor , and a good integrated graphics card, NOT INTEL
I second that... gimme that dual-core Atom (330 is it?), and I'm game for an MSI. Let's hope I can hack a SATA 2.5" HDD in there (500GB ftw!) and let's get some triple boot OSX86/XP/Ubuntu uber-joy.
The ability to install Mac OS X is good enough, as it at least provides an option. And innovation and features sound better than touch-screen, which isn't really a feature to me at all. It's just something to drive up the price by a lot. There are other things they can do to add features, but not increase cost by much.
I just hope this one runs OSX86 with the stock wi-fi card, and maybe we can whittle down that 6-7 min boot up time.
$550? For that I'd get an Eee PC with SSD, a 16GB SD card and a backup hard drive.
BTW, if you want a chance to win an Eee PC go to [www.arod.tv], vote (5 stars please, I'm trying to win too!) and enter your name and email after the link, contests ends 10/31.

Question is:
WHICH 3.5G card? The CDMA or the HSDPA equiv (Wimax and L4 if I remember the names correctly).
... 3.5G IS HSDPA
This one is much better looking than the first-gen, and I'm assuming it would probably run OS X just as well as the first gen. I'd be willing to drop the cash for this one.
