Love the commercials for this - A-Rod, Kobe, Michael Phelps, Tony Hawk!
With the Dell discount the XBOX 360 itself is cheaper than the Guitar Hero World Tour Bundle. Hell yeah.
The lack of any kind of dedicated Band Mode, like you have with Rock Band 1 & 2, is a big disappointment, as is the inability to make a separate band from the one the band leader created for his or herself. Also, even though World Tour has a higher degree of customization for its in-game characters, I somehow find myself less able to make a rocker who looks the way I want than I am in Rock Band 2.
The songs are fun to play, though some of them are fairly bad choices for instruments other than the guitar (play On The Road Again on drums and you'll see what I mean). It also suffers from the typical Guitar Hero syndrome of adding phantom notes that aren't actually played by the guitarist in the master recording, just to boost the difficulty. And with this game having the difficulty turned down compared to GHIII, while RB2 is a bit harder than RB1, I'd say the two are now roughly on par difficulty-wise.
This game is good, but it could have been better. Rock Band 2 wins this round.
since when means everywhere only USA ? ...
Has anyone with the GHWT Wii played online already? How is that (same as GH3)? Is the Pay and Play logo only for DLC?
