ASUS 14.1-inch B80A business laptop: it's for the corporate elite
Yeah, the "corporate elite." Or, so says ASUS, anyway. Just months after the business-minded B50A hit the scene, along comes a slightly more portable iteration to tickle the fancy of the fanciest suits. The B80A comes rockin' an all black motif, 14.1-inch WXGA (or WXGA+) display, your choice of Intel's Core 2 Duo T9400, T5850, P8600 or P7350, up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a SATA hard drive ranging from 160GB to 250GB, dual-layer DVD writer, 1.3-megapixel webcam, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, WiFi and a 6-cell battery to boot. You'll also find a very consumer-friendly HDMI output, a backlit, spill-proof keyboard and a fingerprint reader. 'Tis a shame ASUS never feels like fessing up to a price or release date, but at least you now know whether it's worth your while to hunt one down.

I'm amazed that there is something coming from Asus that is not an Eee PC this time around :p

This looks so good I might have to get it. If it releases about the same time as Windows 7, who knows whats possible.
YpoCaramel @ Nov 2nd 2008 7:57PM
The really elite have secretaries, so any laptops they might have a really just for show. :p
Ian @ Nov 2nd 2008 8:13PM
Specs are pretty average. I wouldn't expect this sort of laptop to cost over $1200 unless the build quality is superb.
Cory @ Nov 2nd 2008 8:38PM
It's an ASUS so you can expect the build quality to be great.
crazyfishmolester @ Nov 2nd 2008 8:34PM
wtf is with all this ddr2? honestly an elite laptop that is slow as hell! unless its a 128 bit intel i7 9.0ghz!
crazyfishmolester @ Nov 2nd 2008 8:36PM
its like porn. but they have no boobs:(
Jake @ Nov 2nd 2008 9:03PM
Average specs except the 7200rpm hard drive.
I'd get excited about this laptop if it had 1680 X 1050 resolution and an ATI 512MB dedicated graphics card.
iEye @ Nov 2nd 2008 9:55PM
Can it run iTunes? gotta sync that iPhone!
Dylan @ Nov 2nd 2008 10:31PM
its too bad all these "corporate elite" types will get to their Monday meetings with this machine thinking they're king sh$% only to have some marketing guy with a macbook pro tell them what to do to keep their company on top and keep their job.
Anticrawl @ Nov 2nd 2008 11:37PM
The coffee guy trying to sell his script he wrote at starbucks is running a company?
piusg @ Nov 2nd 2008 10:58PM
The business elite buy ThinkPads. End of story.

Intel's Core 2 Duo T9400, T5850, P8600 or P7350.
Wow. I have absolutely no idea what that means. How 'bout a naming scheme that's memorable, if not intuitive? Eh, Intel? How 'bout it?
