LG debuts 13.3-inch XNOTE P310 premium laptop

LG may not have strayed to far from the outward appearance of the XNOTE P300 with its new P310 model, but it looks to have given the "premium" laptop a decent enough upgrade under the hood, with it now finally getting bumped up to the Centrino 2 platform. That upgrade also includes a speedier 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo T9400 processor, 3GB of DDR3 memory, 2GB of Intel Turbo Memory a 320GB hard drive, and some decent enough NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics, not to mention the same LED-backlit 13.3-inch display as before. No word on a price just yet, but we're guessing it won't be too far off the €1,599 (or just over $2,000) its predecessor demanded.

blueangel00100 @ Nov 5th 2008 4:05PM
They don't look like their holding a several pound laptop.
Atropos @ Nov 5th 2008 4:29PM
The insides have been gutted to allow the arms of the frail models to support them.

HOOPER, that's what she said.
DoctorWho @ Nov 5th 2008 4:40PM
Good, I will gladly take the one on the left. Although the one on the right does look like she would be more of a freak...

I have to go with left.
Engadget should put a poll whenever there's multiple hot models asking which one we'd prefer :D

I don't know why people want the one on the right. The girl on the left is just better.
Non-asian guys have far different taste in asian girls than asian guys do. It's kind of a good thing, though.
Knives_Out @ Nov 5th 2008 4:06PM
yummy.

lenovo puts "turbo memory" on their laptops too... what is it and what are the benefits if any??? i could never find a straight answer on the internets

"The technology attempts to decrease hard drive usage by moving frequently accessed data over to the flash memory. Flash memory reacts faster than hard drives and requires less power, allowing notebooks to be faster and more power efficient.[3][4]
The Robson cache connects via a mini-PCIe card with on-board NAND flash memory modules, supporting new features available in Microsoft Windows Vista, namely ReadyBoost (a hard-drive caching solution via USB flash drives) and ReadyDrive (a hard-drive caching solution via hybrid drives), allowing both read caching and write caching of data. Often this is implemented with a Disk Filtering Option ROM (DFOROM)."

9600M in a 13 inch? I don't think so.
Chin-Poh @ Nov 5th 2008 4:28PM
Its possible, the optical drive is external, so they had enough room to cram the GPU in.
YpoCaramel @ Nov 5th 2008 4:42PM
It is true, do your research mate. There's collaboration from LG and various German magazines.

Rekit @ Nov 5th 2008 4:17PM
Is it just me, or are they hovering hundreds of feet above the ground.
derX @ Nov 5th 2008 4:22PM
Yeah, they weren't photographed in front of a window in a tall building. They're floating.
Only logical conclusion.
derX @ Nov 5th 2008 4:23PM
Silly me, I'm sorry, they're hovering.
Floating just wouldn't make sense.
Samboini @ Nov 5th 2008 4:24PM
Yes, if you disregard the building's floor they are obviously stood on...
gparizot @ Nov 5th 2008 4:31PM
LG appears to be trying to save money. The models are obviously in the LG towers on Youido in Seoul. (I used to live about three blocks away, I know the area quite well) That's the Han river and Youido Plaza in the background.
