Incase Power Slider for iPhone 3G doubles the juice, lets you sync

Been cursing your iPhone 3G's disappointing battery life? Don't have the heart to saddle the thing with that big ol' Juice Pack? The Power Slider by Incase promises to double your phone's power for up to 5 hours talk time on the 3G network (10 hours on 2G), increase your audio playback time to 26 hours, and increase your video playback time to 7 hours. If that wasn't enough, the iPhone can be left in the case while you sync it -- saving wear and tear on the case and on your phone. While the Slider isn't as svelte as your raw, naked iPhone, at the very least it manages to keep roughly the same shape (even if it does fatten it up quite a bit). No pricing yet, should be available starting November 28.

from the website:
Power Slider will be available Holiday 2008 for a suggested retail price of $99.95 (US) through the Apple Store® and Apple’s retail stores worldwide, and in the US through Best Buy Mobile and the Incase webstore.
damn did i mess up getting the mophie juice pack, this one looks much better
The iPhone could use a little meat on its bones. It's a bit slim and slippery for my tastes. This could be just the ticket. Also, you could put it in a sock and use it as a truncheon.
lol,
an army of trendy types swinging itruncheons at those-that-do-not-beleive.
"Whos your daddy"
*whack*
*crunch*
Steves your Daddy, Bitch.
I quite like the look, but does this add five hours of talk-time or increase to? I was under the impression the iPhone already had five hours. Also, this might be a silly question but would my invisibleshield interfere with this?
Nice idea and execution! Only problem is when it comes time to pull that sucker out of your jeans pocket...
Even though I do love the size and shape of my iPhone (1st gen), this case seems like a good compromise between form and function. It would be nice to be able to leave push on all day, take some calls, and know that the phone will still have some juice left at the end of the day. Though at $99, I think I'll be content with what I have.
@MVP: That was the first thing I thought about. What I love is that sans-case, the iPhone just slips in and out of my pocket with no trouble. While the case is obviously a good thing to use, it is gonna make the whole experience all the awkward.
Does this work my TMobile G1?
;)
Even as an Android fan, I have to say that this thing + a G1 would = ginormous brick.
I like my iPhone
But the battery life sucks
Help has arrived, friends!
Meh. the casing just makes it bulky and take up even more room in my pocket. Would rather get something like a Devotec solar charger, so i only needed to plug it in when i actually want that extra power.
seriously considering this, wondering about the following
How the "Optimized power management system provides continuous charge to iPhone 3G internal battery" (from goincase.com) effects the life of the internal battery... Might the iphone battery last longer and not need to be replaced (as soon)?
Will the iphone think its on A/C (or at least USB) power and behave differently? Wifi on all the time, etc.
I am not to fond of the dock connector and the 3g have rough edges all around, this case takes a lot of that out of play and all my mini usb cables would charge it.
yea this thing wod have been more perfect , only if steve job could include a 120 GB HDD . for the iphone and ipod touch
that the only way i would get one for me.
Something bugs me about this, it mentions that it charges the iPhone's internal battery. Surely that is highly
inefficient use of the external battery; it should just be powering the iPhone, not charging the other battery.
I bet you could get 25% more lifetime if you could turn off the charging of the iPhone's battery.
This is just like the ivyskin battery case... check it out here:
http://www.ivyskin.com/iphone-3g-quattropower-case.html
The Ivyskin case has better battery performance, and the battery is removable. Oh, and it doesn't look quite as slick.
If it has a microsd slot built in, I'm sold.
only 199.95 plus tax and your first born daughter at the apple store.
mophie juice pack looks way ghetto in comparison. I'll take fatty any day.
