Hello Kitty C1 netbook packs a lotta 'tude into a small package
There's been a serious dearth of Hello Kitty-branded products these days, but the dry-spell is thankfully at an end, with the arrival of the Hello Kitty C1. The crazy cat's apparently first-ever netbook is (as you can see in the photo) quite a looker, and it's packing a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU with 1GB DDR2 SDRAM, a 945 GSE Express chipset and a 120GB hard drive. The 10.1-inch netbook's also got two USB ports, a 1.3 megapixel webcam and WiFi. It's going to cost you 890 smackers to make this yours, but the sassiness alone kind of makes it worth it, doesn't it?

Oh no! I better set this link on my routers block list so my sister dosen't see it (she wants a notebook but im trying to convince her to get a proper laptop as its for use as her full time PC, even though she currently has a 2GB RAM, C2D PC she can play TF2 and such on).
Mmaster23 @ Nov 22nd 2008 9:23AM
Your sister plays tf2? No way!

CJ @ Nov 22nd 2008 9:14AM
Well, I could certainly be WORSE... mmmmph- nope, I can't keep a straight face. Although it's pretty cute regardless.
And let's face it, this is what Netbooks should be: Twee, emblazoned with well-known characters, and apparently aimed at the 8-to-12 year old girls demographic.
KRIS_C_123 @ Nov 22nd 2008 11:26AM
or emo guys, you cant forget about those
Abuzar Baloach @ Nov 22nd 2008 2:02PM
Ehh, they could make blodified versions for emo guys.
Valicore @ Nov 22nd 2008 2:15PM
All they need to do for the Emos is put "My life is sorrow" on the front and include black eyeliner.
Twitchy @ Nov 23rd 2008 12:31AM
I'm waiting for the Anpanman version.
AmIWrong @ Nov 23rd 2008 3:43AM
but i thought apple already made notebooks for young girls and emo guys...
G @ Nov 22nd 2008 9:43AM
What the hell is "Hello Kitty" supposed to be anyway? Was it ever an actual cartoon or something like that or is it just a product of some salesman's imagination who thought inventing Hello Kitty would help him sell his **** to girls?
Mike @ Nov 22nd 2008 9:56AM
Cartoons, video games, and products. Its been around since the mid 70's making money in japan and in the US.
Tohe @ Nov 22nd 2008 10:09AM

Homer @ Nov 22nd 2008 10:10AM
I rather buy a cat and lower price netbook altogether instead of this "cute" little thing.

Brent Ashley @ Nov 22nd 2008 1:50PM
It's an old idea just now starting to become commercially available.
I modded a pink Eee for my daughter back in January (http://www.ashleyit.com/blogs/brentashley/eee-kitty.jpg) and blogged about it here:

Normally I'd down rank you for spam, but that is actually a pretty good Hello Kitty mod, and this is a Hello Kitty netbook article, so you get a thumbs up.
sam @ Nov 22nd 2008 6:05PM
Good job.
I think this one is nicer, though: I like the subtle colouring with just the bow to make it obvious... pretty tasteful.
Luckily, it has an HD (ugh) and Windows XP so I am protected from temptation :) I've been kind of thinking about a netbook... hoping the ARM ones actually will come out next year with better battery life etc... and Hello Kitty branding. :)
Shawn @ Nov 22nd 2008 8:08PM
A girlfriend once worked
At that Hello Kitty store
Too much fucking cat
elle @ Nov 22nd 2008 9:58PM
Netbooks with the same specs are selling for $500. That makes the Hello Kitty markup $390.
HOW YOU LIKE THEM, APPLE?
spam_free @ Nov 23rd 2008 9:46PM
The only thing this proves is: pussy cat > Apple tax
ace587 @ Nov 22nd 2008 10:37PM
