Meizu M8 unboxed before December 8th launch
Can you believe it? After two years and any number of missed targets, Meizu's M8 cellphone is bound and determined to meet its November 30th 8 December launch date. As proof, they've shipped a first unit to China's PConline for review. Hmm, white earbuds, charger, and USB cable... imagine that.

It has wifi though. Wifi is all around where I live, so I have no use for edge. Secondly, if the price is really under 400 dollars, im fine with creaming my keyboard over an edge phone.
I've had a 3G phone for 5 years now, I wouldn't really miss it. WiFi is more important for me (ok, it's cheaper), and I don't need the internet that much on the go apart from translating a word or checking my mails. I hope that stuff such as Cisco VPN etc. works on the Meizu.
Also this is the first version, the next one is supposed to have 3G and GPS. AFAIK that's the one they want to sell outside of China. Don't know when we'll get that one, probably in 2 years... ;)
Was that article written by translation software?
I'll try again because this comment system sucks....
OMG What a c0ck I am!
In my opinion, the following Urban Dictionary entry sums up the M8 perfectly.

I like how they implemented Copy and Paste...you press a button and you choose Cut, Copy or Paste. I wish Apple thought of that.
Wow. I'm baffled by people who are so effusive about their love for this device and then bash the iPhone. This phone WOULD NOT EXIST without the iPhone. It is a knock-off (even if a good quality one) of the Apple device, even down to the packaging. Why not love both, and give credit where credit is due.
as
finally understand what you mean "fingerprintwang" , the article must be translated by some software. It means the back of the phone can easily be a fingerprint collector originally.
Watching the vid, I just realized that the name of this player sounds like a once famous Hansen song.
M八。。八八M八。。八八。。。
Why must he constantly it to the iPhone. "the headphones are like the iPhone's, even the cloth!!" There are other baselines ya know.
gosh!
the Chinese are just unbelievable - no sense of originality at all. wtf is that -- some kind of cheap and ..cheap iPhone knockoff?? I hope Apple will take legal action against the company that claimed they "designed" it. They really think that they can outsell the iPhone because the batteries can be replaced -- well effed them and the M8 -- they should've called it Meizu "I-am-iPhone-cheap-clone". This is what you get for letting the Chinese produce and manufacture things, they turn around and come out with a phony version. That's what it is.If i lay my hands on one of those m8, i'll be damn sure to do a video similar to the "will it blend?" vid on youtube. I'll effing put it in a blender!!!!
Lawsuits in China are not as easy as in America where you can tear a lawsuit sheet off a stack of 500 from your kitchen drawer.
Hello guys , I'm a Chinese student, I'm so happy that you're interested in M8.
I want to confirm something about M8:
1. M8 is with WIFI, but WIFI is forbidden in China Mainland, so M8 sold in China must be screened by sofeware, however the WIFI module exists exactly.
2.The reason why M8 doesn't support 3G is that now in China 3G (TD-SCDMA, a kind of 3G of which China has proprietary intellectual property rights ) is a beta project yet and the WCDMA and CDMA2000 EVDO will start to beta at the beginning of next year.Meizu don't know which kind of 3G will be the mainstream so it just releases the 2G-version now.
3.If Meizu is going to bring its M8 to USA or Europe in the short run, there's no doubt that it will still be a 2G-version. If the market response is not bad there, I think Meizu will take it into consideration that release its 3G-version. As a local boy, I prefer to buy M8 in the future with 3G.
4.Come to the "imitation" of iphone, honestly speaking, I think M8 really draw some inspirations from iphone, but it's just the appearance, they're totally different inside. Meizu outsources M8's UI to a design company with some great cost, and research diligently by itself, you should know Meizu is a very very small company and has no experience in producing cellphone before. Meizu did all what it could to make the cellphone perfect, I think to sentence such an uneasy work to knockoffs is a little bit merciless.

My English is a little poor, if it's a difficulty for you to grasp it, I'll say sorry to you.
Here, here!
I've been watching the M8 for about a year now and I have to say that it's been quite the uphill climb to where they are now. The fact that people are bashing this phone and it's company is kinda sad, especially when some of the comments are coming from people who evidently have not taken the time to research this phone and it's capabilities.
I own an iPhone... it's sitting here right in front of me. There are quite a few things I don't like about it that have made me want to get the M8 for the fact that they give me what I already have and then rectify the short-comings of the iPhone, but I'm not going to get rid of the iPhone once I have the M8; it served it's purpose for me and I'm sure it will do the same for my wife.
What I'm trying to say is that, Bashing either phone just doesn't make sense. If you've got an issue with your iPhone, do as I did and vent it on the apple forums, if you don't like the fact taht the M8 looks like the iPhone just say it, but until you own either one and do a comparison, do you really think that you're showing any real intelligence?
And the haters making racial remarks about the Chinese not having originality should take a step back and look at their art or architecture. They've been creating much more originality than most countries ever have.
Let's all try to get along and play nice.
soooo ... i have yet to see a Touch Screen that tops the iPhone. is the M8 multi touch.. is it as super smooth and responsive as the iPhone?
yes M8 is multi-touch and it has sensitive reaction.

BTW I wanna know how to change my password here ... it's rather NOT a easy number to remember.
After reading tons of reviews from Chinese websites such as pcpop/it168/pconline/cnmo/mobile30, a much more detailed and vivid M8 has come into my eyes. From those reviews, where full of bad comments as well as good comments, it is hard to tell how much should I expect this phone. I have never touched an M8, so I trust all what I have experienced from Meizu. I knew both apple and Meizu’s style and attitude. Meizu is a hardworking and bold company, they risk two years without any new product and concentrate on M8, while Apple can renew its iPods every year and launch iPhone at the same time. I had an iTouch, sold because of its horrible sound. Before that I own an M6, the old version. I love it better than iTouch just because it has much better sound and cheaper price. I believe M8 will be an excellent phone, think about the price, and two-year great effort inside it.
I agree that M8 is a copy of iPhone, also I’d like to add HTC HD, Nokia 8500XM, Samsung i908e and even Blackberry Storm because they all sparkle with iPhone’s shadow but use a different system, it is kind normal in today's market.
It's amazing for you to read all the reviews so far(pcpop/it168/pconline/cnmo/mobile30), can you understand Chinese? ^_^
Oh I forget to tell you I'm Chinese. I go to those websites almost everyday, also Engadget...
is Rectangle the patent of Apple?
Use your brain, instead of your axx, to think.
Dude,
I love meizu, hope it run android.
Meizu made the best MP3 player in term of sound quality.
I have mini M6 player and it blow iphone/ipod away.
Yes, I have iphone 3G and my wife has ipoop touch.
