AMtek reveals Atom-powered T10L touchscreen UMPC
It's been almost a full year since we last heard from AMtek, but we have to admit that we're at least mildly interested in what it has going on in the T10L. The touchscreen-based UMPC packs an Intel Atom N270 CPU, integrated graphics, up to 2GB of DDR2 RAM, a rechargeable Li-ion, 80GB hard drive, 10.2-inch 1,024 x 600 resolution display, 1.3-megapixel camera, dual speakers, WiFi and a basic array of ports. Everything's tucked into a portable 2.6-pound package, though there's no telling when or where we'll see it emerge. CES-bound, maybe?[Via GottaBeMobile]

It would be nice if there was some sort of protocol that would allow everything to communicate more streamlined. Having several of these would be beast. One in the kitchen, and it does the refridgerator and keeps track of stuff, and such. the possiblilitys are the endlzz.

You can also imagine a beowulf cluster of these stuff BTing movies...
linuxamp @ Dec 5th 2008 11:17AM
Clusters are for parallel processing. Last time I checked μtorrent was not processor bound unless you're running some really old hardware.
stefan @ Dec 5th 2008 4:11AM
it has a rechargable HDD? With Li-ion?? woah! Me want!

DssTrainer @ Dec 5th 2008 4:24AM
sub $400 price or bust!
NEUR0M4NCER @ Dec 5th 2008 4:57AM
All I ever wanted was a reasonably fast slate - I really want this to be £250...
Alan Strangis @ Dec 5th 2008 10:07AM
All I want is a netbook with a convertible screen without paying the import tax attached to the Gigabyte.
You'd think with the 100s of Atom 1.6Ghz devices on the market SOMEONE would copy the M912. Asus I'm looking at you, since you release 5 new EEE PCs every week.
Troels C @ Dec 5th 2008 5:13AM
They should have added BlueTooth support, for wireless mice and keyboards
Jimjam @ Dec 5th 2008 5:54AM
Ding to the pricing comments. If this can be had for £200+VAT wholesale, I'll be buying hundreds.
No1 @ Dec 5th 2008 6:32AM
Well, it took them long enough to come up with a slate netbook.
Fusion Fuzo 05 - Mr Professional @ Dec 5th 2008 6:35AM
NICE
Dave Chappelle @ Dec 5th 2008 7:48AM
go to hell!
also, is anything these days not Atom powered?... Why AMD why, didn't you make something to compete with the Atom processor.. then definately you would be seeing this product 'sub $400' or £250.
Troels C @ Dec 5th 2008 8:23AM
@Dave Chappelle
What is your problem?
gylman @ Dec 5th 2008 7:14AM
2.6 pounds?
Excuse me?
Adios.
Darkflame @ Dec 5th 2008 7:46AM
Potentially this could make a VERY nice base for Augmented Reality app's.
dark star @ Dec 5th 2008 8:24AM
without a keyboard, why on earth would this weights more than other 10inch atom powered laptops???
Jimjam @ Dec 5th 2008 11:20AM
Darkstar,
I'm hoping a good junk of that weight is a 4+ hour battery.
thedesolate1 @ Dec 5th 2008 10:38AM
This is what i have been waiting for... hopefully it will be well priced.
thedesolate1 @ Dec 5th 2008 10:40AM
Never mind. It doesn't have a keyboard.
Christian @ Dec 5th 2008 12:32PM
It'd be interesting to have this at home either by extending media or even doing remote desktop so you can roam around your house with the desktop in your special room.
