Inspiron 1545 outed on Dell's support site

The kids over at Engadget Spanish ran some pics of a new Dell laptop a short while back, and now the company itself has leaked some stats and info on its support site. Apparently, the device -- dubbed the Inspiron 1545 -- will boast a 15.6-inch widescreen, a Core 2 Duo processor (max 2.53GHz), up to 4GB memory and will ship with either Vista or Ubuntu. There's more to it than that, of course -- hit the read link for some docs and make sure you check out the gallery for more info.

Spend an extra bit of money and buy a REAL computer.

A real computer who's turn around time for repairs, and they happen a lot on Apple shit, can be over a fucking week. Thanks but I'll stick with a professional company who has next business day service who will send a tech to YOU. Vs. Apple who apparently thinks all their customers use their computer as toys so repair don't need to happen in a hurry.
Apple can go to hell and take their shit first gen hardware and shit warranty service, that doesn't even have accidental damage might I add, with them.
Are you telling me that this Dell that I'm typing this post on is an imaginary computer? OH SHI-
The 1525 has an HDMI port, the 1545 does not.
hhmmmmmm?
The 1525 has 4 USB ports, the the 1545 has 3.
Can someone correct me if I am wrong.
I'm sure this will be marketed as a MBP killer.
Lighten up guys: it's a working tool not a design competition or a game of Top Trumps.
Stop looking at stuff like an IT manager - been there, spent twelve years specifying systems, and it distorts your view of reality: most of the stuff you want, you don't need, and most of the future-proofing you build in by buying at a high spec is replaced by faster, slicker technologies by the time you need the functionality (usually only required in the real world when a new OS sucks your old system dry), and for less than the cost of the upgrade path.
Relevant questions are: does it perform as it should do compared to other computers at this price point; does the keyboard have a good action and is the keyboard layout compromised by its form factor. The rest of it is BS. Against my better judgment I ended up with an HP L2000 SP (with all the yellow Lance Armstrong stuff all over it) because at the dealer it was the one that was the most functional. It was bought as a portable, and has ended up being my main workstation: can't fault it, except for a monitor that sometimes comes up pure white and needs shutting down and restarting before it'll reinitialize. When the time is right it will be replaced by something else, and that decision will be based on the keyboard and overall real world functionality. It could well be a 1545: it looks like a purposeful piece of kit.
If I wanted leading-edge design I'd have bought a MacBook or a Vaio, but then when you want a computer, why buy fruit? Incidentally, the main reason why I don't buy Mac and didn't buy a Sony was keyboard feel and layout - got a few Macs purely for compatibility (I'm in publishing) and haven't yet found a keyboard that I can live with, and don't get me started on Apple's idea of what a mouse should be.
Great Dell Product
nothing like dell, don't get me wrong, i like their stuff...but they always seem to have a knack of mispairing up bus speeds...that just seems a bit backwards to me, perhaps most people don't even notice!
today i went to best buy, they already have it there for sale like 700
the inspiron 1525 is probably much much better
