Dell Studio XPS 13 leather-wrapped laptop revealed, Adamo info leaked!
Thanks to a totally amazing Engadget source, we've gotten our hands on photos of the absolutely sick Dell Studio XPS 13, and some new info about the company's forthcoming Adamo. First off, the photos in the gallery are of that Studio XPS we caught wind of way back in August. The pics we saw back then don't really do the laptop justice, as you can tell by these snaps. Meanwhile, that rumored Adamo is very much real, and very much like what we've been hearing. Apparently the device -- which the company plans to market as the "world's thinnest laptop" -- was slated to be released this month, but has been pushed back till at least February. The Adamo will sport a black and silver color scheme similar to the system you see here, but is "different," and we're told that it's most definitely Dell's play to nab some of that MacBook Air marketshare. We're working on some photos of that, but until those come through, enjoy the gallery below!

If that's real, don't judge me. I'm not about to type that in to a browser at work.
Nice Design / bit boxy but buils well on the current model. Just hope it is better built than the current xps notebooks.
I cant believe how good the reviews for xps notebooks are - they are put together with worse quality than a standard hp.
Clickers feel cheap, trackpad is small - metal looks like its just glued on top. lets hope this is a step up.
Also like the exact sony keyboard and mouse pad copy copy from the previous sz series - identical shape and size...
Slot drive looks lovely though...
Oh heres a question, do you prefer speaker cable connections on the front or the side. I prefer the side because i cont plug in my desk speakers without them getting in my hands way when typing....
Matte screen and ubuntu option, please-please-please with sugar on topz.
Nice
I really don't like the metal accents sticking into the bezel like that.
I've gotta admit, I would never buy a Macbook Air for the price and inconvenience of it. But if Dell can throw a card reader and 2 or 3 USB ports, they may have my money. I mean come on, WHO DOESN'T use a wireless usb mouse and flash drive simultaneously?
If it has a decent non LV processor, and 9400m or 8400gt graphics or better, I will go for it.
Seriously, if they can ever fit desktop power in less than .7" I will pony up any amount.
This is all that's known for now:
Studio XPS 13
Screen Size: 13.3"
Starting Weight: 4.85 lbs (2.19 kg)
Starting Price: $1,406
I dont like the fact that is not for gamers anymore, its now a designer compurer. :(

this is a great competitor to the macbook, not the PRO nor the AIR. The leather is a great ideal hopefully it wears better than silver plastic paint. I don't own an apple but if it came down to it, for 1400 dollars i'd buy the apple, firstly the stats are as good as it gets, and the design is an industry leader.
like any business, it's the customer that makes it viable. If it does not have the customer base, it will eventually lose its market. I have had 2 Dell computers, and though not crazy about them, it was their off-shore customer service reps who could not speak understandable, clear, Englsh without the unintelligible dialect, that finally did me in, along with the automated e-mails. Dell now wants to charge it's American customers $99 to have an English speaking customer rep. Dear God, if Dell had not lost me before, they would surely lose me as a customer now. They can shove that $99. I've moved onto Gateway who just merged with Acer and uses tech's in California who actually do speak English. Dell, you need to take a lesson from the American Auto Makers. Without customers, you are irrelevant.
You know...there is room on the left side for the card reader instead of the front, just so it looks better in the front. Other than that, I have found my new laptop!!
