ASUS S121 appears in photos, secret dossier
We really don't have much to go on at this point beyond the photos, but this is apparently ASUS' new S121. It looks uncannily like the sleek n' slim 10.2-inch Eee PC S101, but this model's supposedly going to be 12.1-inches. There aren't any other details regarding specs, pricing or availability yet, but we'll let you know when we do, because we love sharing our discoveries. We really, really do. Check out some more photographic evidence after the break.

Fantastic, yet another addition to the very large EEE family. Their going to have a fun family reunion some day.
this is no EEE or netbook
read, read the news plz
I nap for an hour and suddenly everyone's talking backwards.. I daren't go to sleep tonight..
Look! Shiny!
I'm getting sick of everyone copying...
HP
with that shiny border.
Yeah, that shiny border just makes it awesome!
in fact, I got a side street news from a guy who works for ASUS in Taiwan
the CPU is going to be a dual-core Atom
no more N270!
Black and white screen -- ugly!
So is this still a netbook? or do those stop at 10.2 in.?
no it's a notebook..
asus claimed that screens above 10 inches are not in EEEpc netbook line
I like that leather/pleather area to rest your wrist on. Looks comfortable and hopefully it won't discolor as badly as plastic typically does on my Macbook and Inspiron. Check out that metal trim on the border too, very classy. Hell, it looks better than most Vaios which Sony seems to pride on aesthetic design only.
Looks like the U2E with the leather palm rest. Can we assume it'll be much cheaper?
you bastards! just 2 minutes ago i finaly decided and selected my new note/netbook which i'm going to buy on January and you have again broken my plans! ;)
I like S101, the problem is that 1 GB fixed RAM. If i could put there more, or buy it with 2 or better 3 or 4 GB, i would pay 100-200$ more without any problems. But 1 gig limit is a very poor limit for 2009. It was minimum at 2003, considering the Moore's "2 years to double everything" (speed of computer, number of transistors, internet trafic ...) then this 6 years from 2003 to 2009 means 3 generations, so 8 time more needs, so having 1 gig in 2009 is like having 125 Mb RAM in 2003, what was far bellow minimum requirements for even the clean OS.
And if i could ask for one more feature, than i would add touch display - if this notebook is going to be in europe just few months before Windows 7, i would like to have a device prepared for it's probably the only interesting enhancement.
S101's RAM isn't fixed.. people have been upgrading it to 2GB.. and clearly you do not need 100 dollars to get it fixed..
touch display? well i'm sure you may find it online and change it yourself
"so having 1 gig in 2009 is like having 125 Mb RAM in 2003, what was far bellow minimum requirements for even the clean OS."
You are definitely wrong!
Here's What You Need to Use Windows XP Professional
• 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features
do you notice that touch pad?
I don't see the mouse click button!!! what the heck.
Unless that big thing at the bottom is.
calm down buddy
havent u seen S101 before
its got the same thing and you can click on either end of the button
of course it works just like any other mouse buttons, it just looks differently
Oh no! Just like a Mac button! Go flame it on how it sucks and isn't a real mouse!
Wow this thing is nicee, similar to the S101 but looks a lil nicer. I have a 12 inch asus notebook now and I am pretty satisfied, I was thinking of going for a 10 netbook next thought. The only thing that breaks the deal for me on the S101 is the crystals on the sides, I am a guy and i rather have it without them.
