Jasper Xbox 360 Pro acquired: the photograph is proof
So yeah, finding an Xbox 360 Jasper in Arcade form isn't all that difficult these days, but we certainly haven't seen a glut of Pro models shipping out with the supposedly cooler, smoother and altogether more melancholy Jasper hardware within. A lucky soul over at PDAToday has acquired one such unit, and while he may just be incredibly fortunate, we'd say it's about time you to-be Pro owners start looking out for a few telltale signs. As you can see in the closeups in the read link, there here FDOU team Pro -- which was ordered from Amazon on December 22nd -- boasts a 12.1 amp rating and the unmistakable Jasper power port. Of note, it did come bundled with a Falcon revision (175-watt) power supply just like Ben Heck's Jasper Arcade, though we suspect Microsoft is just clearing out excess inventory given that the older PSU won't damage the Jasper machines. Any others out there run into any holiday luck? Let us know!

Sounds like it's almost time for me to finally purchase an Xbox 360.
Ditto.
My question is, it might be cooler, but does that mean the already rather loud fans will be even louder?
Pretty shambolic when you have to search for a Xbox360 that works. Aren't you Americans ashamed at producing such trash?
@999 Americans??? This damn thing is made China.
360's problems are all design related. Dumbass/cheapskate Americans designed it.
I purchased my XBOX 360 Pro w/Jasper at Best Buy in the Milwaukee area back on December 12th. It apears this article is OLD news as this has already been well documented.
LoL ggg you EuroDouche. I'm not even American, but I'll enjoy posting on your ignorance.

@ggg:
Short answer: No.
Long answer: No. Shame would require us to move away from the apathy we feel towards most things. So we'll continue to build, produce, grow, eat, drive, buy, sell, gift, re-gift, wear, use, and love our various trash, all while trashING other countries and their trash that we deem inferior.
And when our trash verb-ing processes fail, we'll get paid to continue to fail. It's an inexplicable cycle that has held strong for a long long time. God bless our trash.
Oh, I see. Changing your name to various three consonant combos allows you to appear incognito.
Don't use "kkk" next. Us Americans have a stigma with that combo. It's back from a time when the white trash used to persecute others they saw as black trash. It's a long storied history of trash, dating back to when King George installed a "trash tax" and we pwned u nubs lolol
I just wish any Jaspers, be they Arcade or Pro would become available in Canada.

thats odd. the xbox i received for christmas has a 175W power supply. jasper?
As the article states, 175W may be Falcon or Jasper. Check the current to determine whether or not it is Jasper.
What makes Jasper better?
It's more reliable (or less un-reliable) and draws less power. That's about it.
Less RROD-able? Of course we won't really know this for 6-12 months from now, so I'll just vaguely say it's "more better".
@Arkenklo
It's not really proven to be THAT reliable yet.
@STINK
It's just 'better' (without the 'more').
@ Down
It's a JOKE, mastermind.
Well, it does generate less heat, wich causes less flex on the mobo, so yes, more reliable.
Trivia: The most common cause of rrod are the motherboard flexing away from the gpu (or cpu, dunno).
My machine ordered from Dell sometime around 12/18 had a Jasper in it. Xbox 360 Pro Holiday bundle. I was surprised as most people said it wasn't available. Lot number was 0842x
for the xbox holdouts, if you've waited this long to buy a 360, why not just wait until the 55nm or 45nm chip comes out?
Why not wait for Xbox 3?
Yeah. Because. That's coming out soon.
Here in my country (India) they are STILL selling the wired 'core' version... for 16,000 INR (~399$)
How long must i wait.. :(
Forever i guess
but do these have any flash memory on the mainboard in addition to the hard drive?
nope
I purchased an Xbox Pro like December 14th and it was Jasper didn't think it was a big deal lol
Nope - and I bought two.
There was no extra memory storage that appeared. Updated pics on website.

i saw quite a few jasper 360's at my local circuit city, i'm getting one this week since ive had mine from when it was first launched and i have gotten 2 RROD already.
Mine just red ringed and I'm really hoping they don't bother fixing it and just send me a shiny new one, but I doubt that will actually happen.
I bought one from HK early December, hope it will not die as my first one...
Finnaly best buy pays off! I purchased a xbox 360 from best buy in Illinois and just now found out it was a jasper. I'm so excited now. Thanks engadget you guys rule.
John Z
What did engadget do?
I bought the halo edition xbox last year, and it's pleasantly loud which assures me that it's working, and so does the wonderful sound of the disk spinning. just lovely.
Does anyone in Australia know if these have flooded on to our shores yet? I will grab one as soon as I know I get get a Jasper unit.
I bought a Falcon Pro on Friday, but had to return it because the graphics would artifact like crazy if it was left on for more that a few hours. I got home and lo and behold a nice shiny Jasper Pro! 12,1A on the rear and in the case it had a 175W power supply.
I'd buy another one just for the fun, but I'm not into those proprietary-overpriced accessories anymore.
Any idea if these Jaspers hit Canada yet?
guys, it's called the gtx 280
Sure, if you wish to heat your home faster.
I don't believe it, the picture's not blurry!
