Sony's VAIO P ultraportable revealed

P.S. Sorry for the blur, best we could do before the security hammer came down across our knuckles.

A look back on popular stories from today in a specific year.

Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
Not so "underwhelming" now is it?
Yes. Yes, it is.
Boring!
SOOPERGOOMAN : I totally agree with you, they do the same for "Engadget was first in the world to reveal the P from the FCC specs"
Funny, how can they tell that ? Have they seen each Website ?
We publish at same time (because I am France) but with better information than the poor information published by Engadget ! I was already working on the FCC files in the morning here in France while Engaget was sleeping in US ;-)
Jeff
"Engadget published poor information, you can see better information on my original post"
You may have better information but I wouldn't know because it's NOT IN ENGLISH. I believe you've misrepresented your site by writing the above in english. Had you written this comment in your other tongue I could have saved time by ignoring it.
too much BEZEL.
that much bezel makes baby jesus cry.
I can't really understand most of the displays for netbooks. I guess they make em tiny to not use up the battery, but I can't stand the giant borders they leave on most of these things, just seems like a waste of space.
is it red, or is that just because it has been taken on a monitor?
otherwise, its a rather good looking thing.
It is tagged breaking, the labels only show up on the front page, not on the post itself. No, I don't know why.
Hope your knuckles are ok...
1.33 atom cpu, windows vista, inflated price tag......1 word...............morons. How is it is possible for one of the biggest tech companies in the world can honestly believe that a higher price machine running the most unpopular operating sytem on the planet (vista) on a less powerful processor than most of it's rivals who also happen to be running the best version of windows ever made (and under cutting them on price) = winner. I love sony but always get the impression there is some gargantuan bureaucracy/red tape/ego problem within the people running the company that leads them to make unbelievably stupid moves despite being last to enter an oversaturated market and have all the possible insight into the sector they could possibly want. How long did these jokers hold on to atrac for? i mean christ you would have thouht they would have got a clue by now. I say it again....MORONS.
I like small laptops but I will need to play with this computer in the store to see if I like it without the mouse pad? My business currently uses Dell Computers
the right side of it, is that an hdmi out port>? or sd port>
yaay. finally a new Picturebook. I'm gonna be all over this.
I wish we could be rid of you trolls.
Oh this is priceless. I don't know how you guys come up with this stuff so quickly. Fanboy gold.
can we pierce the nipple?
Big bezel because it's an OLED screen. Battery life will be awesome.
It's just me, or it sounds twice more interesting after the non-removable battery/paying extra for a matte screen fiasco? ;)
Wow. Thank you Sony for the trackpoint. This is going to be awesome.
Screw that. I'm all about that new Macbook Wheel!
No mouse buttons? Thats great, you get a nipple but you lose the ability to right click. How can they market a non-touchscreen device with no way to click?
Seriously I hope its an OLED if not its gonna be a tough if not impossible sell. Though it does have some nice creature comforts like SS flash drive it is gonna be an overinflated sony. Though that isnt stopping me from saving up for one.
Anybody thinks the screen is too wide????
Wow... wonder what they did with all the old PictureBooks (I love my old PictureBook - over-priced, under-powered, crap battery and ahead of it's time... hopefully this one solves the first 3 problems on my list)
They really should just go back to the design of the Vaio Picturebook and simply update the internals.
Ed.
what is the price of this little baby ???
Sigh. For 2 thirds of the price you can just get a fully functioning laptop. If you buy this you're just paying for the Sony label.
Chicklet keyboard, so what? The new iMac has a chicklet keyboard too, and it doesn't have an excuse because it's a desktop so it has all the room in the world, while the Sony did a pretty nice job sneaking so much functionality in a package that could fit in a coat pocket if need be. Stop the Sony-bashing, Engadget: Sony's P is the only netbook that you can actually view those big-ass pics on engadget, so consider it free advertising for your sit.
Great Post, I really liked your post. Talking about Vaio laptops, we specialize in Vaio Laptops and would be happy to have you review our prices..
