Japanese 'Yakuza 3' PlayStation 3 is sexy, in short supply

To commemorate the release of Yakuza 3 in Japan, Sony and Sega are bundling the game with a special edition ceramic white 80GB PlayStation 3, complete with a very detailed dragon decal emblazoned on top. If that wasn't enough, the pack is being offered for ¥45,980 ($495), which according to Siliconera saves you ¥2,000 ($21.50) than when buying the game and console separate. You can expect that price tag to skyrocket on eBay, though, as only 10,000 of these are being made. Sure, it's no price drop, but man is it gorgeous.

Learn to read homestyle... it says savings of $21.50 are to be had. So the targeted consumer is going to save money. I guess you were too consumed with the thought of being the first post, rather than thinking of writing something pertinent.

FYI I have a Wii yes, I am also a fan of the 360 I just don't see the need for one when I have countless gaming PC's.

You gotta sell product to make a profit too there chief. Those things aren't doing much for Sony's bottom line sitting in stacks on the shelves and in warehouses either. My local Bestbuy has so many left over from the holidays they have built a virtual fort of them back by the customer service desk. If they were Wii's, they'd be gone in two days, tops.

I'm a working law student who owns all three consoles. If I have time to play at least two of my consoles a week, anyone short of a med student has time to play at least one console in their down time. It all narrows down to what you use for entertainment.

On a side note, anyone want a OG 60gig PS3 for exactly $495. Kthnxby.

PS3 will definitely be starting out really strong this year (hopefully it goes the whole year) but I gotta say, 2008 was an awesome year as well.. All those games and everything.. It finally started catching up in sales and hopefully it will skyrocket this year

I've never understood why these consoles are released. Don't get me wrong, this design is beautiful. But, unless you have it in some glass case, like they do at conventions, I don't see how you can enjoy the artwork. Even if you stand it on its side, it'd be hard to enjoy as well. Maybe I'm in the minority of people who just slide their gaming consoles inside an entertainment center or cabinet. Who knows.

Again, that dragon artwork is beautiful by the way.
