Samsung officially introduces 2233RZ, the 22-inch 3D panel for gamers with two eyes

3D gaming with flickery goggles is old-school tech that won't die, and is poised for a big-time comeback this year. Samsung is at the forefront, hoping you'll go all cross-eyed over its upcoming 2233RZ. The $399 panel, shipping in April, measures 22-inches and sports a healthy 1680 x 1050 resolution, 20,000:1 contrast ratio, 300 nits brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate. If that sounds familiar it should, as those specs all match the earlier 2233Hz, with the obvious difference being that you can split those cycles across two eyes -- 60-per -- for some immersive 3D action. Yes, goggles are required, but they'll be included, as will be compatibility with the new GeForce 3D Vision cards.

Yeah but it's only a matter of time before the D-bags come up with something else. but its nice that the "First !!!!11133t!!" comments can be relegated to such classics like; "Will it blend?", "But can it play Crysis?", "I see what you did there", "I for one, welcome our new (noun) overlords", "Your mom went to college!", "Your Mom (followed by any combination of verbs, nouns and adjectives regardless of the cogency of the phrase)" and my personal favorite "Iphone".

Yes, Ladies and Gents it's only a matter of time before Time Life releases a cd box set of these powerful classic D-Bag phrases orated by Bill Shatner for you and your family to enjoy time and time again. Maybe they will have the guy from The Who on the infomercial. We can only hope.

I love Samsung's panels, but what is with these new stands they seem to mount all their sub $500 dollar models on? You have to force the stand into the bottom bezel with so much pressure that it feels as if the panel were about to snap. It's an annoying and risky way to save a few bucks on screws Sammy.

I wish that that there's 3D on the 2253BW I bought last year. By the way, Samsung definitely makes the best TN-based monitors. I've had experience with calibrated LG, Dell, and HP monitors, and my Samsung blows them all away, so I figure that this won't be much different.
