Dell's XPS 625 reviewed already, found worthy
We're well into the throes of CES and things are happening hot and heavy; Dell's Phenom II-packing XPS 625, announced just hours ago, has already been given a full once-over by DesktopReview.com, finding it to be a solid machine -- and even a good value. (When's the last time you read that conclusion about a gaming rig?) The review admires the machine's sophisticated looks, well-designed case, and easy expandability, but found that AMD's latest couldn't quite keep up with the i7 (as we'd heard earlier). Given the price point here that shouldn't exactly be a surprise.

i wonder if it will follow in the footsteps of its older brothers..... piss poor motherboard, which renders all of the components attached equally as poor

You dont overclock a Dell.
Boards of Canada @ Jan 9th 2009 7:18PM
ooops!
pro: "Great overclockability"
I stand corrected!
Boards of Canada @ Jan 9th 2009 7:15PM
that one was 1499$... great price! (starting at 999$)
Game_playa @ Jan 9th 2009 8:11PM
I JUST built a better one for 850. Specs:
*Q6600
*48501GB
and all other stuff
Boards of Canada @ Jan 9th 2009 8:22PM
yeah... of course but Q6600 is only 2.4ghz... better take a 3ghz d2c then.

How many times does one need to see a link
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/core-i7-overclock,2112.html
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/core-2-overclock,2113.html
to finally take a look at it.
For a decent gaming PC you only need $625.
For a great gaming PC you only need $1250.
For feeling better (or being stupid) you need all the money in the world and it still won't be enough.
$999 isn't worthy. It might be "not as bad as some other alternatives" or "not as expensive..." but its NOT a good price for that piece'o'crap Dell 625 is.
Great Core i7 PC costs $1250.

mos @ Jan 9th 2009 8:25PM
Will it blend?
Lane @ Jan 9th 2009 8:44PM
I don't know any way to say this but bluntly: SHUT UP! We don't care about blending or if it can play doom.
noyp @ Jan 9th 2009 9:42PM
And it plays crisis. It can also divide by 0.
Jinx @ Jan 9th 2009 10:02PM
What a load of crap you guys are posting about.
You offer no relavence about the XPS at all.
I'd buy this machine if I didn't feel like building a PC
Fazzal @ Jan 9th 2009 8:49PM
Are you going to post this in every article?
Al Bundy @ Jan 10th 2009 1:44AM
i am finding it very very hard to consider an amd machine. the new 940 PII cpu crosses the same price point of the i7 920 which leaves it in the dust except in HD gaming where it miraculously holds its own. And whats with the cheap $130 video card? i guess that's where the *sucker* factor comes in... i mean markup rate.

They forgot to cut out slots for the bread to go in.

It's actually made of a liquid metal alloy, unlike it's predecessor.
