If there's one thing for sure here at CES it's that we've seen a bunch of multitouch devices, both
good and
bad. Add this 50-inch multitouch display from Samsung to the list titled "cool as hell." Once we were done snapping
shots of the P3, we saw people surrounding this bad boy so we decided to see what was up. We don't have much info but one thing's for sure: these devices are much more fun when you're just playing around rather than using it for some more
meaningful purpose. Peep the video after the jump.

lol why? a tv works for one thing and that is playing media this is simply done using a remote control from the comfort of your couch. Maybe if this was priced around about where Sony sell their 50 inch LCD's i would consider it but i just cannot see the point of this how often are you going to put in your sd card and browse your photos?...
PC MultiTouch FTW.

What a ridiculously stupid idea ! I have enough problems with my dimwitted friends leaving dirty fingerprints on my Kuro, and that's when there is absolutely no good reason to touch the screen !
I.E @ Jan 10th 2009 7:43PM
i guess if it's not in your sitting room it couldn't possibly have any other meaningful uses right?
NoPantsOn @ Jan 10th 2009 8:14PM
booger i'd put a picture of you mother up there and multi-touch her on that sexy 50in screen with your dimwitted friends anytime
fingerprint or not, who gives a damn. it's a freaking 50in multitouch TV
Saboosh @ Jan 10th 2009 9:42PM
NoPantsOn: Best reply ever.
That aside, isnt this going to piss off all of those fat, channel surfers when they realize they have to get up off their asses to take advantage of the extra grand or two they spent on this tv?

slipstreamghost @ Jan 11th 2009 1:24AM
Mmmm, is the remote control has a telescopic poker to use it from the couch?
Booger @ Jan 11th 2009 4:18AM
NoPantsOn - It was actually your mother who complained about the fingerprints when we were watching porn together - That was right before I Bum****ed her...
G @ Jan 11th 2009 4:20AM
WHY OH WHY!!??
Why does the world need a 50-inch multitouch TV? You can draw with your fingers and move pictures around? That's fun for about 2 days after you buy it, after that you just use it like a regular TV and think about how you could have better spent your money.

Amazing, seems Samsung is always on top of the ball and ahead of their game!

This isn't, most likely, for the home buyer. It's most likely for educational institutions that don't want a projector plus a smart board.

Finally, hands on Porn in Real time, Harray!!!

I mounted my 52 inch Samsung lcd high up on the wall for one reason and one reason only. "No damn fingerprints"!! (I have a three year old and a four year old). I would be afraid to scratch the screen on this one. They may claim scratchproof, but we all know how that one goes. This tv is cool as hell for show, but I'm not too sold on everyday use.
jambo @ Jan 24th 2009 7:27AM
i want it :(
it's really cool
