Windows 7 gets installed on MacBook Pro, explained

We've already seen an early version of Windows 7 installed on a MacBook Pro, but with a brand new, more widely available beta now flooding the internets, there's no doubt quite a few more folks ready to give it a try themselves and, naturally, some have already done just that. Thankfully, there's also some how-tos starting to pop up, and it looks like the entire process is relatively painless, albeit still entirely at your own risk. Hit up the link below for one fairly straightforward walkthrough, and head on past the break for a video of the latest beta in action on a unibody MacBook Pro.

The noob probably needed to install the trackpad update that came out months ago. Mine works fine.
Would it be terrible if I said I was running Windows 7 on Bootcamp as I post this comment? No issues at all to report. All the Vista x64 drivers load perfectly. Some issues with the sound though. You need to grab the Realtek HD Audio driver (I'm using Mid-2008). Regardless, anyone with free time give it a try!
So far i have it installing on a white Macbook, running in VmWare off a 120gb USB hard drive and it runs perfect, no probs at all, except the aero interface isnt enabled because the OS is being virtualised
That screen sure is shiny.
It worked automagically from the iso w/ VMWare Fusion. One of the many things I really like about VMWare is the ability to load an OS by selecting the ISO as the "drive". Kinda like mounting it without the pain...
Kubuntu.

everytime I go to the MS site to download it, the damn site just hangs on me. any other place I can get a clean copy of the beta?
Does anyone have a link to the first wallpaper on the mac? the swirly colorful thing.
Thanks.
Trying to download it off the Windows site but the download doesn't start when I hit the button. Anyone know what's up?
Wow, looks like a Linux distribution. Oh well, I guess they are free to copy...
Can someone please help me GET the Windows 7 Beta? I went to Microsoft's Site, to windows 7, registered, logged in and chose the format I wanted (I've tried 64 and 32 bit). Each time it hangs at the window where I assume you download it. I just keep a circle with dots spinning (similar to os x gear).
Is there anywhere else I can download this BESIDES Microsoft? If not, which browser did you use to download. I don't use anything else besides Safari and don't want to have to download FF just to get this to download. Thanks for your help!!!
Okay, I gave in and installed FF. Now, I get to the download page with an email confirmation. BUT, everytime I hit download NOTHING donwloads. I have verified and changed my download folder and nothing. Suprisingly, the conf. email link also works with Safari so I tried it there, too. Again, nothing downloads. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, right clicking only shows save image to downloads folder not save linked file.
Thanks!
Try picking up a torrent instead and save the install key microsft gave you.
with that glossy screen, why does the camera guy sit right in front of an open window?
He said "internets" like almost ex president bush said, Bushisms LOL
I have it working with the trackpad and sound. What i had to do was this.
1. Create a Boot Camp PArtion and install vista with sp1
2. Install all boot camp updates and software
3. Run an upgrade of vista
4. Everything should work just fine from there.
5. You must go into system in Windows 7 and rate your machine to get the optimal user interface , but then it works wonderful.
6. MacDrive wont install
7. I have tried all three antivirus application and they screwed up my install, so beware fo them.
8. Overall it works pretty stable. and almost all apps will install.
Does anyone know how to get the right click to work on a macbook? I don't have a mouse at the moment. Thanks
pop in your leopard disc and install the drivers for your trackpad
