BlackBerry Curve 8900s trickling down to users from T-Mobile
Visiting T-Mobile's site still gives you a disheartening "Coming Soon" when you click on the 8900, but it seems that at least a few folks have badgered customer service reps just enough to get 'em to drop the newest Curve in the mail. The official date for consumers is still February-ish, but this dovetails nicely with talk that suits would be able to latch on to one a few days early -- so, you know, just tell 'em you're with Callahan Auto or Initech and see how far you get.

Already have one from Rogers AT&T a first for being a Canadian wireless provider, we're usually last at stuff. Good phone no 3G but I don't really care cause Rogers AT&T has pretty shitty 3G and I don't miss it very much.
NO THANKS - iPhone 3G FTW
I'm waiting for the new 8900 to trickle down to sprint.......I hate waiting >_
I fucking love office space. If I worked at T-Mobile and someone asked me for a curve claiming they worked at Initech I would send it too them and use TPS reports as packaging.
im pretty fudaded
yyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeahhhhhhhhhhh... i'm ganna need you to send me an 8900. that would be great. thaaaaaanks.
We're getting it on monday as switching from verizon to t-mobile (yay!). but the missing 3g is a real turn-off. will replace this with an e71 as soon as possible.
Wish it was on T-Mobile's 3G network.
What 3G Network?

"What 3G Network?"
You must live under a rock. Or be incredibly dense.
sorry, I forgot my
/sarcasm
I am really considering getting this when it comes out to AT&T as an upgrade from my iPhone 1st Gen...this or the Bold. I'm not sure which is better at this point.
Do you need 3G?
I think I would rather enjoy it after experiencing the lack of it with my 1st Gen iPhone. I don't want to buy an already obscure phone. Such is my dilemma.
Do they/ will they ever make an 8900 for verizon?
Nope, never gonna happen. Verizon will not get the 8900.....although we'll eventually get the 8930 :D
I'd bet on no later than Q4, but hopefully sooner (Aside from the storm, VZ does sure likes taking its time getting new BBs)
i hope this comes out for att!
if not then, they need to redo the pearl. upgrade plz
This phone is available to business customers. No amount of whining to CC will get you this phone. They simply don't have access to it. Biz channel only.
Not true, follow these steps and you should be able to order.
Dial 611
say “upgrade” to automated system
say “blackberry” when asked what device
ask CSR if you are eligible for an upgrade
ask for blackberry 8900 (verify it isn’t old curve)
price is $299 plus tax, will ship with $100 mail in rebate.
My CSR actually called my local t-mobile store to see if they had it in stock so I could pick it up in person, unfortunately they didn’t.
You have to do the automated contract renewal then UPS tracking is your phone number with dashes. Regular shipping was free, express was extra $20 but since it is the weekend I opted for regular.
Ordered mine today no questions asked. Price was $300 up front with a $100 rebate. Should have it Tuesday. So excited!

Rogers AT&T? Seriously? Rogers dropped the AT&T from their name in early 2004. And Rogers almost always gets new Blackberry models before anyone else. Rogers and RIM have been in bed with eachother from the beginning.
Also, their 3G is awesome where it's available. I get great speed on my iPhone 3G.
You could get a good look at a butcher's ass......
I wonder if there is just one business number you call, or if there are different numbers setup for various businesses? I keep calling the business number we are given, and they keep telling me its not in their system yet, and they cannot sell it until it shows up in their system. The business folks that managed to order them, did they tell you the same thing? Did you have to do or tell them something to get around that and get them ordered?
These are available now through business customer care, or your rep. Individuals can't purchase it yet, but I just ordered one through our rep. Price was $500 without contract, $200 with.
just got off the phone and succssfully bought one! $299 and it comes with a $100 rebate form. Should get it early next week (with free shipping!) CAN'T WAIT!
Are there any requirements for the $100 mail in rebate?
e.g. Does is require signing up for a data plan?
Just ordered mine!!! Had a fussy rep the first time, I even had a good con, I have a discount on my account from the company I work for so my account type shows up as corporate in their system, and she still denied me. Not to be beaten, I called back, got a new rep, and was able to order one without even having to make up a story or beat around the bush.
Will I be able to get the 1 year contract in store at TMO on Feb. 11th, or can I only get that through calling a CSR?
