MSI's Wind U120 netbook is go for purchase
The Wind U120 has been drifting around for months now in the minds of undersized laptop aficionados, and being that you've already heard it talked up, seen it ripped apart and perused a gallery full of hands-on images, all's that left to do is break out the plastic. Yeah, we know -- $469.99 is tough to hand over even for a rather respectable 10-inch netbook, but at least you get a six-cell battery, right?

i bought the u100, put a ocz core II ssd in it, and now i'm trying to sell it so i can buy a new macbook :(
Why when you can run osx on the wind natively.
That's fantastic. Please, tell more!
Yet you can't write a simple sentence?
It's on NewEgg for only $379. I was looking at getting one until I realized it's limited to 1GB of RAM
That is a different SKU (-024US) that doesn't have 802.11n and (I think) Bluetooth 2.0 w/ EDR.
Yeah these must have been available for a while, because my friend bought one and got it yesterday, when I opened it up to add a gig of RAM there was nowhere to put it! Though I can't believe Engadget is only now reporting that it is on sale when it has been available for a while. He got his for $400, not $479.
Be sure and read Newegg's return policy though. It is probably one of the worst I have seen.
hmmm... pass.
two tone is ugmo
Looks an awful lot like the Vaio FS series.
I thought the same thing exactly.
I just hope no one breaks Wind.
FAIL
Anyone know if the MSI Wind u120 is sold in the US with integrated HSDPA?
I have been trying to figure out exactly how you get their much promised 3G/WiMax connectivity options with zero luck. No one I talk to knows anything about it.
There is an open slot for a 3G card but it also has a slot for your SIM to (presumably) access the internet through your cell service. Don't know if it requires a 3G card or not though.
Well from what I can tell, I havent been able to find a single online store in the US that sells the u120 with the 3.5G option, which I thought was to be one of the major points of the u120. Does anyone know a good online store that sells it with it, or will it only come bundled with a mobile carrier contract?
You can also get the Lenovo IdeaPad S10 Ultra Portable with Intel Atom 1.6 GHz, 512MB DDR2, 80GB HDD, WiFi, 3-Cell Battery, Windows XP Home $299.00 shipped at PC Connection

Acer Aspire One is doing me JUST FINE !!. Thanks again Santa. See, sometimes it pays to be good, =).
These have been in stock for at least a week, don't know why it took so long to report.
Anyway, remember, there are different versions of the U120. Thus the different prices.
In the US, we have these:
U120-024US - (no Bluetooth) - roughly $370
U120-020US - (Bluetooth 2.0 EDR) - roughly $470
Both are 6-cell, 1GB/160GB, 1.6GHz, XP configurations.
BTW, Amazon uses a volatile sinusoidal pricing model similar to how airlines do it, so keep checking the price until it ebbs back down to a reasonable level. Don't get burned paying $35 more than you could be paying if you just come back a little later. There are probably 4 or 5 prices that it will drift up and down to over the course of a day. For example, right now Amazon is showing $405 for the U120-024US (non-BT) model, earlier it was $379.
One more thing...
U120-024US - 802.11 b/g - 10/100 Ethernet (despite the Amazon listing -- need to fully confirm)
U120-020US - 802.11 b/g/n - Gigabit Eithernet
this is the only difference?
Neither of them can support 2GB RAM?
Do they have sentelic or synaptics' touch pads?
I prefer to get non BT and pay 15 bucks for a usb BT adapter....
